What to check for before unlcoking / rooting?

I have only had my tf701 24 hours but Im already looking at unlocking and rooting it, I hear a lot of people talking about dock issues and such that puts them off unlocking and voiding the warranty

Just wondering what faults the tf701 suffers with that I should look out for before ruining my warranty and making any future hardware issues expensive.

Also on another note I have an app NowTV that will only work on none rooted devices, is it possible to install something like cromi-x, remove/install just the apps I want without all the bloatware, then unroot to allow me to use the nowtv app?

Make sure your stock is all updated to 4.3. Give it a good run. Maybe do some stress test apps.

There are no problems with the tablet itself. The big disappointment is the dock.
CROMi-X comes with the Xposed framework and there's a module that can cloak root - or so it claims. Haven't tried it, but check it out:

Sorry for I am being vague.

I googled for Stability Test and I ran it. Should be fine. Mine just gets a little warm. I wouldnt worry about it. They do plenty of stress tests. They dont want them coming back. Cheers chaps, my dock seems perfect never get any disconnects or problems with charging, just have a strange screen black line flicker to see if asus will correct, then ill go ahead and unlock.

Ill check out the root mask too see if it works.
