So far, the major change I see from FRF50 is the web browser. Scrolling is improved on certain (more complicated HTML?) web pages when Javascript is enabled. For example, try browsing Slashdot.org. Scrolls much smoother than FRF50. Seems like mild improvement over FRF72 also.
Edit: That's not all. Scrolling in market is smoother too - I suspect a change in kernel scheduling/interrupts or something fundamental and system-wide. Linpack is scoring 41+ with *default* kernel now - that's a good 6-8% faster than default kernel on FRF50 (I never tested FRF72). Either a side-effect of kernel improvements or further improvements to JIT.
Edit2: One more thing I noticed - something has changed with Flash handling in FRF83 from FRF72. Flash video on NYTimes.com was smooth and awesome (except in fullscreen) 2 days ago on FRF72. Now video quality seems to be significantly degraded (this is all on Wifi so I can't imagine what else would be different). I am still running the same Flash 10.1 beta 3 I was running before. This could possibly be something changed on NYTimes.com or elsewhere, hard to know, but I was really enjoying watching Flash video under FRF72 and I can't say the same now. I also tried switching to UAString Desktop in browser and playing some Youtube video, and they weren't degrading but seemed to be losing audio sync instantly. Definitely a few glitches in the matrix with the interactions between FRF83 and Flash 10.1 Beta3 that need to be addressed.
