I've always used Sandisk but since my note 3 I've have 2 failure with the SanDisk Mobile Ultra microSDXC 64 GB UHS-I Class 10 becoming read-only which could have just been unlucky.
I have purchased the Samsung Memory 64GB Evo ready for my Note 4.

I don't agree with the "...if not better part," but that's just my opinion. I've done photography for years and am very familiar with Lexar as I use some for my daily driver when recording HD for weddings etc... It's safe to say that you can't go wrong with either one, but from my experience nothing has beat the speeds of the Samsung Pro cards. In my industry, every bit of time counts when transferring globs of data for editing....

Lexar is every bit as good as Samsung if not better. they're owned by Micron/Crucial and are known in the photography and computer sphere for making the best chips out there, but I guess their stuff is marketed as more high brow so the average consumer isn't acquainted with the brand. Note that the Lexar cards have lifetime warranties for a reason.

Oh I'm not arguing against the speed part since the Samsung Pro does have faster write speeds (I believe). But I'm referring to quality in general and Lexar makes top-notch cards is what I'm getting at.

Great choice. I too have dumped ScamDisk completely. They went from being decent affordable cards to being complete garbage. They may work okay for a while, but due to the weak integrity of their cards there's a high probability of failure. It's happened to me twice as well just with my old N3 and multiple times with my Canon. It's funny how there's so many versions of the same darn card eh? Cracks me up...ie..."Oh here's a new version because the other one was crap, oh here's a new packing, here's a new version...."

I'm 100% with you my friend. Lexar makes world class products like Samsung. :highfive:

Samsung is 90/50
Lexar is 95/47

Not much of a difference, speed-wise. I went with the Lexar because it is cheaper and comes with lifetime warranty.

so is this a good card and deal? http://www.amazon.com/Lexar-Professional-128GB-Memory-LSD128CRBNA600/dp/B00IF4O644/ref=sr_1_2?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1413149268&sr=1-2&keywords=lexar+128gb+sdhc+card+class+10

plus since i am a student i might be able to get the free trial for amazon prime and get that free 2 day shipping.
yeah you can get 6 months for free here: Amazon Student

That card is good but you're looking for a MicroSDXC and not a standard SDXC

The Samsung Evo would be the best value for the money, good speed and price. The samsung Pro would be good if you'll be throwing it on another device like a GoPro4 as it's capable of 90MB/s read and 80MB/s write.

SanDisk Ultra 64GB MicroSDXC
48MB/s Read, 15MB/s* write (*the write speed is based off of the previous iteration of the card)
Samsung Evo 64GB MicroSDXC 48MB/s Read, 32MB/s Write *approximately
Samsung Pro 64GB MicroSDXC 90MB/s Read, 50MB/s Write
SanDisk Ultra 128GB MicroSDXC 48MB/s Read, 15MB/s* write (* based upon previous iteration)
Lexar 633x 128GB MicroSDXC 95MB/s Read, 25MB/s Write* (*based upon the similar U1 16GB card as it should have slower writes than the 32GB/64GB version)

Ever since my Note 2 which killed 3 Sandisk cards. I never buy Sandisk cards for my Samsung devices. I know eventually it will become unusable or for me at least.

is sandisk really as bad as people say? that lexar says shipping is 1 to 2 months. i wonder why and if with amazonprime it will still take 2 days????
The Lexar hasn't been released. It's supposed to be released towards the end of October so you'd need to buy another card if you want it immediately. Prime will get the item to you within 2 days after shipping, but the item needs to be in stock obviously.

Not yet that is and about Lexar over Samsung, from my personal experience I'd have to strongly disagree. I own both brands and have used them extensively over the years.

One thing that I can tell you for sure is that Samsung cards hold up and walks the walk with its claimed speeds. Whereas with Lexar, they have never met the claimed speeds from what I've tested.

Lexar is not better than Samsung. I'm sorry. Just not true. If I had to go all in on this, I'd put all my chips on Samsung all day any day.

I would recommend both brands, but I would buy a Samsung card over a Lexar without thinking twice. Let me add that I do use a Lexar in my Canon and it does the job.

Fixed the links. Samsung does not make a 128GB MicroSDXC card. Lexar is as good if not better than Samsung in terms of quality.

Well put it this way. If it looks like a duck, walks like a duck and quacks like one, it is a duck. It is obvious from the many members on here who have had bad experiences with sandydisk. It is what it is. They suck now, whereas before they were a pretty good buy. Not anymore.

I've use Lexar CF cards for my photo gear and they're top notch especially now that it's owned by Micron. They're speeds are near advertised, especially the 633x MicroSDXC which I currently have in my phone. I also have the Samsung Pro in my tablet and it also works fine. I wouldn't hesitate on either brand but the lifetime warranty on the Lexar says something about the company in my eyes. I don't think SanDisk has decreased that much in quality, they did have the bad batch a few years ago with the SanDisk Ultra, which is why some people here tend to stray away from SanDisk.
