I've ordered from clove before and VAT is for Euro zones only so no tax. The conversion fee wasn't bad. I got lucky didn't have to pay a customs charge but they might have marked something on there end to save me money. Most stuff from the UK that's over $200 US gets hit with a customs charge tho. For the note 8 maybe but I don't think so.

On the warranty, read your find print carefully. A lot of places will send the phone in for you but you have to get it to them on your dime. Others won't help you but sometimes you can still send it in to a center in the country it was sold in.

An FYI, the ROM boys have enabled wifi calling and volte on TMO on some others I've had, it may happen here, no guarantees of course. I'm not too worried about freqs since it sounds like the 600 stuff won't see much penetration until the last half of next year. I've had no problems on TMO so far...

Does the Exynos model have all the correct bandwidths to operate properly in the U.S.? I thought I read somewhere that Exynos phones don't always have the best reception in the U.S. I'm torn between the International model and the U.S. Unlocked. I want the option to root and run custom roms, but not at the cost of losing any function. Plus, I'm on Sprint. Does the Exynos International model work with CDMA?
When I go to the link you provided, it shows 'From £724.17 exVAT / From £869.00 incVAT'. £869.00 would be $1112.82. Is that right? When I go to the Checkout page, it says 'Your order below contains a product which is currently unavailable and its final price is unknown. Therefore you can still place the order below but no payment will be taken - you will be asked to pay for this order when those details are confirmed.' As of right now it does say 'VAT (20%) £0.00', so I'm unsure if any tax will be charged. It also includes a disclaimer stating 'Samsung’s region lock stops use of this handset within your chosen country unless activated with a European SIM. I agree for Clove Technology to break the seal on the box, activate the phone and remove the region lock by completing a 5 minute call on the handset.'. Also, depending on my credit card, I'm probably going to get hit with a conversion fee, right? I haven't come across any site to order this model in USD. Are there not any at this time? I'm thinking maybe once the phone comes out there will be. Any suggestions or ideas for ordering this variant for use in the US? Thanks
Yea the conversion would be correct for £869. But my order confirmation email if you will says 724 which would equalify to around $930 usd.

Product Code Qty Subtotal
Samsung Galaxy Note 8 - 64GB - 6GB RAM - Midnight Black - SM-N950F SAM-N8B 1 £724.17
Postage £18.00
VAT £0.00
Grand Total £0.00

I really hope this is the final price for the device but it's still unknown. But one final note samsung sells their international phone for £869 so I'm not sure how clove would sell it cheaper.

Like others, I've never purchased an International unlocked. I'm interested in only using one device for lines with Sprint and Verizon. Can anyone guide me on what I need to look for/ purchase to ensure I have service with both providers on a single device (dual sim Note 8)?

That's extremely unlikely,especially for Sprint.
You might wanna check some of the other Samsung forums here (S8/S8+) & ask about SPRINT/VZW Compatibility, but,I'm 99.999999% certain both will not be compatible with any DualSIM versions.

Based on this site, the DUOS S8+ is only LTE compatible,I doubt if phone calls will work for either network & I'd guess similar will be found on the Note 8 DUOS (should work just fine on AT&T/T-Mobile,FWIW):

If you buy the device on clove or handtec, would you still receive the EU promotion of getting the samsung dex?
Also, does handtec remove the region lock with the purchase? I know clove does, but nothing is mentioned on the site that they will remove it with the purchase (which is strange, since they are shipping internationally).

Handtec does remove the region lock, it's mentioned on their FAQ and elsewhere on the site. Don't know about the promo items, I'm FD all the way and neither Clove or Handtec have it.

I just want to make sure. I purchased the international (unlocked) model from Samsung. Based on what I read here, it's still gong to be Snapdragon version and I will lose WiFi calling since I have t-mobile. Is this all correct? There is no way outside of eBay clove etc to order exynos correct? Thanks all

Correct

It should tell you on the website which model it is

N950F is exynos

N950U is snapdragon

I'm lucky enough to be In the UK avoiding the snapdragon models and have ordered direct from samsung

Looks like I got snapdragon. Question, couldn't I just cancel and order from the UK site?

Youd need to enter a valid UK postcode and address for it to be delivered too.

I'd love to have gotten US offers over here in the UK :( have a note 5 / s7e I could trade in but we don't get decent deals over here.
Also note 7 owner discount doesn't apply in UK either

Hello! It looks like there are a couple of unlocked, dual sim:
N950FZKDBTU: A Europe Model, and,
SM-N950FD: India/Singapore

What are the differences in these devices? I live in the U.S., but travel a great deal. I am reading that for the Europe models to work in the U.S., they must first be activated by a 5 minute call using an EU sim card. Why is this? Is this true for the India/Singapore model also?

The D denotes dual SIM. The last 3 characters is the CSC (BTU is generally UK eu unlocked). You can easily lookup the CSC codes online.
Gotcha. Thanks. I have derived they are both sim/carrier unlocked, dual sim, which we can not buy in the U.S. My question remains:

It's a region lock Samsung uses to help control grey market sales which was done at the request of NA carriers who have been trying to make international phones less palatable to NA customers who are just now getting away from locked contracts and carrier subsidies and starting to buy outright. I travel extensively and international phones actually work better than their US counterparts overseas because you're more likely to have a signal. I have never not had a working phone overseas on Tmo's international add-on when any person could be seen to use a cell phone, in other words if there was a signal I was able to get on.
