If ur buying to unlock booatlader then there is no question about warranty
oh man I could not imagine not having warranty on a $1,000 phone
As sweet as it may be to have an unlocked bootloader I don't think its worth it unless your passed your warranty of course.

Its XDA to most of us warranty doesnt mean much lol.

Ive voided the warranty on almost every device Ive bought usually within hours of owning it and never gave it a second thought :D

Course none of those cost $1300 ( canadian) either .

sent from my Note FE, S8 plus, or S6

Howdy folks?
I am thinking about jumping on Note 8 bandwagon as well.
I have a quick question:

Will international version and international version with Dual Sim, work on T-Mobile LTE?

Thank you,

@dontbeweakvato, thank for the reply.

Just to confirm, even the one with Dual Sim, will work on T-Mobile LTE?

Thank you.
Pretty sure.
I watch a lot of videos from @max lee and the last few years worth of international exynos all worked fine on the mobile. He has a YouTube channel called high on Android you should search and sub his channel he's super smart

@svtthis @krabman @Flame Red found a canadian 950f, Wonder if theyre legit?
It would seem suspect since there is no Canadian 950F. Remember a grey market item purchased in your home country is no less grey market than one imported from overseas. There is an exception though, sometimes very small carriers are exempt because they buy small lots rather than have the phones floored.

Gotcha. Thanks. I have derived they are both sim/carrier unlocked, dual sim, which we can not buy in the U.S. My question remains:
What are the differences between these two devices? I live in the U.S., but travel a great deal. I am reading that for the Europe models to work in the U.S., they must first be activated by a 5 minute call using an EU sim card. Why is this? Is this true for the India/Singapore model also?

Thanks!
I compared both models of interest on PDAB:

http://pdadb.net/index.php?m=device&s=compare&ids=12032.11908

Both models are identical with the exception of storage size (128GB for N950FD versus 64GB for N950F). This includes network bands as well.

So provided your carrier and model of choice have the same network bands, cellular connectivity should not be an issue.

In regards to the India/Singapore model, you should only need insert your SIM, restart the device, and it will be able to pick-up signal.

The caveat here is that you 'might' need to configure the APN manually to access the data stream.

Hope that helps!

Hi. Other sites show the "FD" as 64GB. The only mention I can find of a 128GB is on the India thread, and it appears to be just a rumor. So you are saying the India/Singapore model will not be "region locked" like the Europe models?

B&H Photo allows you to add warranty from squaretrade when you purchase the device.

@krabman What about warranty when buying an international?
B&H Photo allows you to add warranty from squaretrade when you purchase the device. $100 for 2 years, $75 deductible.

If ur buying to unlock booatlader then there is no question about warranty
If they want they can get the warranty from some stores. B & H is the only US company I could find who offered it.

I would think the Canadian variant would work best with US GSM carriers anyway. Might grab me a Blue one right over the border if its compatible with t mobile

yeah devs don't develop for it otherwise i would have bought the note 8 edition
i'd love to have some aosp on it too
Yeah thats true....it gets twrp and root and maybe a rom and thats it.

Exynos is the preference for sure although a snap with an unlocked BL in theory would be easier to develop for then exynos.

Like back before the sammy snaps were all locked down and development was booming! I probably flashed at least 40 roms on my note 4 lol

A Question for anyone on this thread who has pre-ordered from clove or hand tec. Are the pre-orders from these websites not eligible for the gift/bonus accessories?
