Where are you getting your Exynos?

Hi. Other sites show the "FD" as 64GB. The only mention I can find of a 128GB is on the India thread, and it appears to be just a rumor. So you are saying the India/Singapore model will not be "region locked" like the Europe models?
Neither model should be region locked UNLESS you are buying directly from a Carrier (e.g., Bharti in India or SingTel in Singapore). Unless explicitly stated, online retailers generally sell unlocked devices.

Once you've found your vendor of choice, drop them a line to confirm but otherwise you should be good to go.

Last year, I purchased a S7 Edge (Dual SIM) model from an Asian seller on eBay. I'm in Canada and frequent the US and had absolutely no issues. Later in early 2017, I was overseas on business for a couple weeks and it worked in every country I stayed (Singapore, Malaysia & the Philippines).

+1 on Clove. Should ship out next Friday. I don't expect them to honor the free DEX offered in the UK when it is delivered to the US :(

To my knowledge the region lock is applied only to European phones. I've had a couple Singapore phones and they were not region locked. Even some of the carrier phones are fully unlocked, my Note 7 for example was Singtel and came in a factory sealed box, it was completely unlocked in every way. Not to say the advice above is not good, any international phone should be vetted carefully before purchase.

Good thread. I'll probably wait a bit to see if root even becomes available before making a decision. If we can get root on the snapdragon model by some miracle I'd probably just get a USA model. If not I'll pick up an international one.

Thanks krabman for the confirmation. :D

The reason I mentioned the possibility of carrier locking is I recall Singtel locking their iPhones and whatnot. Wasn't sure if this extended to Android devices as well.

I did from Handtec and no gift/bonus
Hello, I was going to order the blue one from handtec, do you know what exynos model they are selling is it the SM-N950F unlocked version and will they break the region lock for us. I'm with you guys. I refuse to buy a US snap model for 1,000 bucks and not be able to do with it what I'd like, or wait months for a root method or no twrp. Is handtec reliable never bought from them before, any estimate shipping date, thank you. I've seen the blue 256gb model on ebay selling from Korea but they want like almost 1400,nuts

I asked they said its European and never import from Korea, China or Hong Kong, never bought from them but they seem reliable based on the online reviews and recommendation by some XDA members.

and yes they will turn it on for 5 minutes to unlock per their customer service.

Price will change when you choose to ship to the US as it will take the VAT, Total for me was 967.33 USD with 2 days FedEx

Did handtec charge you at purchase or do they charge you before they ship the phone. I'm going for the blue one love the color, just hope it's not that long of a wait for the blue model, it seems weird to me that they would sell the blue version when Samsung UK doesn't have that color listed in there pre order website, thanks

I used PayPal plus a credit card (Purchase protection with the AMEX platinum) and they did charge the money in my case. they ask me to provide ID to verify since this is the first time (seem normal, other members did the same).

In regard to the color, I spent hours checking who will carry the blue and it seems France(orange exclusive), Russia, and Kazakhstan. handtec have sold phones from other European or F models from other countries other than Asia.

and by the way, all Europe phones are the F, FD model but with different language manual in the box from what I'm reading, correct me if I am wrong.

Why do we have CDMA people asking if the exynos works on CDMA? Lol. Last that happened was the note 2 when every note 2 used exynos. And isn't CDMA being phased out by 2020 in the USA? Or sooner?

Can you link me?
And what's vat? I'm in United States
Link you to what? Google clove. VAT is a UK tax I believe. Buying from you don't pay it. You do pay for currency exchange. It's about 1.3x right now. You're going to be paying about $1000 imported right now.

Hey thanks, I seen in one of your posts you will be using it on AT&T, I will be also. Do you know if all the SM-N950F models are the same connectivity bands for lte with att for the blue model if it comes from one of the country's you listed. I see clove lists all the bands under specifications, but handlec does not just lists bands as lte compatible.

None of the foreign models have support for AT&T's bands 29/30, while your phone wouldn't lose signal (as all the other necessary LTE bands are there) being able to connect to those bands helps with network congestion. Of course both of these bands are relatively new to the network so in rural areas this isn't as big of an issue, but for those who travel to or live in major cities it could be considered a negative. Also, go Pens?

Agree but didn't have any problem with note 7 F model vs the ATT one as I had both and all were great.

Glad to hear it! I know it is probably a non-issue for most people but unfortunately some people did see a benefit from the extra bands in heavily populated areas and it was a deciding factor for them. I'm still using an AT&T S5 which never supported band 30 anyway and with the exception of a few music festivals I've never had major issues in network lag. Root is more important to me at this point but for other people it could be more important to have a device that takes full advantage of their carrier.
