I tried the fling 2 times feature of the app awesome on off but it seems does not work.
The app developer says it uses proximity sensor. So it doesn't work because our tablets don't have one?

No, I don't think it has one.
Why would it? Sure it's generally used on phones to detect when you're holding the phone to ear to turn the screen off. Don't think people intend to hold a 10 inch tablet to their head. :p
