PL is

SPL-1.8.160015.3(131788)

just checked again....

i cant seem to find any information on doing hspl on it since everytime i look up that spl, it shows up as radar but i have a titan?

that isnt really my main concern... mine is the fact that i cant even tether with this unlocked/unbranded htc phone..... it complains about AT&T tether plan...

then it complains about some conection error about phone cant connect to the internet when it is on zune and i cant use the zune pass

To get into bootloader mode you must hold down both volume down and volume up simultaneously and while you're doing it, hit the power button until you see the white screen, continue to hold down volume up/volume down but let go of the power button.

here is the screen inside bootloader

here is the one inside about

Your device model number is the HTC Titan x310e. You will note all we folks with the AT&T HTC Titan in the United States have the "x310a". If you're overseas somewhere other than the US and Canada, I believe you're going to debrand your device with the Cingular 1.10 ROM where we are required to use the European 1.09 ROM but I'm going to be honest with you and all; I'm not sure. My interpretation of the original debrand post is to debrand your device with the opposite ROM depending on where you from and I have spent more time on the Titan threads in the last 6 weeks than I have since my Motorola z3 and HTC Rhodium days but I'm a math major and no where near the level of expertise of most here including this very thread. It is unknown if the Windows Phone 8 devices will be capable of being unlocked other than the carrier-subsidy unlock; the HTC Titan II to date can't be HSPL so it begs the question if the latter devices will equally be highly improbable. I think those of us who also own the HD2 hope the future HTC Titan III (Zenith) will be what many have achieved in our HD2s.

The bootloader is waaaaaaayyy too old. That's like the first walking days of the Titan, but your OS versions seems to have caught up. In this case, no debranding is necessary as all X310e model are unbranded, you just straight flash HSPL and do a custom rom, or you might even consider going stock, which football has provided, including the latest and official 8773 firmware with 4.6 bootloader.

There have been a couple of reports that WP8 crashes, tinkering/trying to unlock the bootloader, showing a PC-like error upon startup asking for a "recovery disk". The only way to fix this is via warranty.

I wondered whether if the device hardware began as an "x310e" if the debrand was necessary. Our "x310a" devices have to be debrand and made to mimic the "x310e" to successfully HSPL...but no one outside the US has been able to verify this. Over on another thread an individual asked my about his "x310e" and his OSPL is 1.86.160015.3 and I asked him to double check that for me and again he said the same thing. It's my understanding, he's good to go and simply has to flash both the SPL205 and HSPL and that's it.

wow

you are right

no gold card, no nothing...

just flash it and it is all done now!

it is surprising that I need to do this on a unbranded/unlocked device.... the x310e 's tethering is *still* locked by AT&T.../

does the top left of my device saying "Security Unlocked" mean anything special?

Honestly, I don't know. If you have successfully HSPL your deice and you're using a custom ROM, not a stock ROM, you should be good to go.

I take it you're using that Titan inside US? If so, then you will need to have a tethering plan with ATT (as I understand with most US carriers, they make you pay to tether). Otherwise if you're on a custom ROM, you can follow the guide in the Titan development forum about unlocking the tether option with ATT.

end up having to do the registry hack to get tethering to work...

this is kind of crap seeing as it is an unbranded/unlocked device which is still affected by AT&T's tethering limitation.... for example, the Lumia 800 isn't faced with this issue. Perhaps it may be time to switch to tmobile soon.. :)
