Could this be your application ?
Even I suspect that the stock camera app's settings are at fault with night shots. Blur points to a long (too long) shutter time.
I think that if you manually set a shorter time you'll find decent night quality. I hope Xiaomi will tweak default settings better and set more conservative settings.

Hi,
I did a tests photo shooting yesterday with Sony and Samsung camera sensors, outdoor and indoor photos looks same (optics is same) but ISO of Sony images was generally lower then Samsung with the same shutter speed (cca 10% difference) so I would say, Sony sensor is slightly better and more sensitive then Samsung.
I can publish some pictures if you want but generally they looks equal....no problem with Samsung sensor at all :)

I have Sony sensor and Sharp display in my 3/32 GB version. Did you know you can record video in 4K using Google Camera app? :)

On my MI 4C 3GB/32GB, I've got something like this

Code:
[email protected]:/ # dmesg | grep "probe succeeded"
<3>[ 10.121615] imx258 probe succeeded<3>[ 10.126814] MSM-SENSOR-INIT msm_sensor_driver_cmd:80 failed: msm_sensor_driver_probe rc -14
<3>[ 10.151571] ov5670_sunny probe succeeded
What does it mean anyway?

For this, I believe the imx258 message is showing a Sony sensor?

Its 6484 (MIUI)
thanks! tried the dmesg method. 3/32 mi4c here, imx258 sensor. anyone knows what this "sunny" means ? i get "imx_258 sunny probe succeeded". night images are blurry but i believe it's probably a software issue. camera software isn't great anyway. i can also confirm 4k video recording using google camera.
