Thanks for the response. But have you tried the latest stock pie for mi a2 lite before going back to those custom ROMs. Downgrading from pie screw up the Sim 1slot. I don't know if you've noticed that.
Hey after downgrading to oreo, flash modem.img from pie rom in fastboot

don't need installing twrp
just boot in with command:

fastboot boot twrp-daisy-3.2.3-0.img

***full information on https://forum.xda-developers.com/mi-a2-lite/development/official-twrp-daisy-t3855396
 thanks man. Worked great.
I flashed Oreo modem back via fastboot.
I booted the TWRP (asked for passwords which I ignored, I didn't press anything)
like you said, I send the adb commands and rebooted to fastboot
From fastboot, I rebooted system
Worked great!!
Thank you.

Okay, thank you. I wasn't planning on installing TWRP before. Maybe I will then.
How did you install GSI without TWRP? Could you please explain? I saw in another thread that TWRP caused lagginess on GSI, I've followed the guide above to install GSI and I have tried many GSIs but all of them were lagging a bit. Do you also have lag issues (especially when opening an app from recents), if not could you please explain the method you used to install GSI without TWRP? :fingers-crossed:

just don't *INSTALL* twrp, only boot to it:

fastboot boot twrp_file_name.img

make what you need in twrp session then reboot to system))

Does this really fix the lag issues with GSIs? Do you have lags on your device with GSI? (Especially when opening an app from recents, the animation stutters in my experience)

not know what about you...

which GSI have "lagging" interface?
Basically every GSI I've tried... PixelDust, Havoc, Descendant, PixelExperience... When changing apps animations are laggy or when opening apps (only a bit, but it makes the phone look ugly for me) Stock ROM is much smoother on my phone

hmm...
may be, i don't check this very good

but i remember what phhAOSP is faster and smoothly than Pixel Experience

and on RR 7 pereodically apps are little lagging when scrolling opened apps list. not so important to pay attention to it)

in the forehead case check pure phh AOSP v109
