I think that the LG G5 Friends as they are called are a damn good idea. If a LapDock-type device (either over the USB-C port or thru the module connector) would be made, with a 12' screen, laptop-style keyboard and trackpad, i would be in heaven. That thing along my Nexus 5. N5 and G5. (or in my case, as my phone is named Daniel 5, D5 and DG5)

heh...capacitive key module (mentioned on other thread)
give me that screen real estate baby
Why?
When you really need more screen real estate - namely in movies - the soft buttons (software one) will be hidden automatically.

So, the screen will be "big" when wanted, and "normal" when needed.

I love on-screen buttons, as they are programmable, interchangeable and more buttons can be added.

So guys Which modules would you guys like to see for the g5?

to kick things off I was thinking of a blackberry priv like keyboard for those who can't stand software keyboards and I also thought that it would be usefull for battery cases they can be attached now without having to hide the connector on the bottom and they now have a way to talk to the phone like the apple case(which looks like hell) but I am corious what you guys can think off

added pictures of blackberry priv

I would really like to see Hardware Buttons, clickable or even capacitive, make a comeback as a module - perhaps with an extended battery of its own. I would hate to waste the space at the bottom of the phone which could be used to enhance the user experience and free up screen space for a less restricted view of my apps. This is coming from somebody who has phone with on screen buttons - I REALLY DISLIKE THEM... Yes I know that there is something called immersive display mode or whatever it is called, but quite frankly i hate having to swipe up first and wait for the navbar to pop up and become fully usable so that i can go back to the home screen. I do quite a bit of cycling and because of it I need a phone (other than the Samsung lineup of crappy, bloat-filled, "smart" phones) that gives me instant access to navigational features.

Modules sounds Great !!! :good:

What if we use the phone as a module instead of adding a module to it.
Here are some examples.
1. Using the phone to power the Car's dashboard.
2. Connecting it to any display and running the entire OS :highfive:
3. Connecting it to PC/Laptop/etc to boost Performance
4. Connecting and powering any damn thing available :silly:

Using the phone as the brain and powering any ecosystem.
BESIDES.....
I WANT POWER !!
I WANT PERFORMANCE !!
I NEED FPS !!
I NEED RAM !!
I NEED STORAGE !!
I NEED A SINGLE DEVICE TO HAVE A CONTROL ON EVERY TASK I DO !!!!!!!

slightly off topic but I think case manufacturers will create a 2 part case to workaround the magic slot whare the 1st part slides on from above and covers the whole phone exept the magic slot and the second part will slide over the slot to connect with the upper part this way you will be able to add modules. The modules won't have any kind of protection but since they are not really part of the phone and easily replacable and scratches don't really matther on them, they won't really need the protection from the case

1. DVB-T2 (and ATSC in the US, and other standards where needed) tuner with a telescopic antenna.
2. Xenon flash. They should have added one to the camera accessory module that they already introduced.
3. Camera module which has a good optical zoom lens for the built-in camera module.
4. qwerty keyboard. Maybe it should be implemented as fold-able screen cover which also functions as a keyboard.
5. Game pad buttons at the top and bottom edges of the device.
6. As already mentioned: stereo speakers - preferably at the top and bottom edges of the device. Would be even better if combined with the TV tuner that I suggested.
7. And also already mentioned: hardware buttons.

- Physical buttons module with the added capability of a trackpad
- physical keyboard
- a designer one by Philip Plein that just looks premium
- a LED module that's acting like the notification LED just that it lights up the whole bottom panel
- one that has extra RAM space
- extra battery
- T9 dial pad
