Upgrade is due soon. I was wondering which phone is best to get and use with the Xoom for when icecream OS is released for both moblies and the tablet? Would a motorola Moblie phone be the best to get?

I might personally in the same boat as you and I am looking at two options

1 least favourable the Nexus prime when it's released I simply Don't trust android non experience devices to get updates (I mean look at this so called experience device) I'm in the UK and only got the only some countries are experience devices after I brought it not that I regret it.

2 samsung galaxy s 2 with wp7 in whatever it's codename is anyway but I am really loving the windows phone action right now

That's assuming it comes to orange uk where my brother gets 40% off and that could change everything.

When is Prime dropping?

Sent from my PC36100 using XDA App
Just in time for the holiday season, last I heard. Around Oct-Nov.

I'm currently contemplating myself whether I should get the Atrix now or bwait 2-3 months for the Prime. Decisions decisions!

Xoomed from my xda app using send.

I see alot posts about ICS. Haven't read up on it at all. Perhaps I will. My question is what makes you think that it will be made available for current phones? As far I'm aware no 2.3 devices are upgradable to 3.0 or any version to version x. Maybe root and rom for a half feature os. I just think its overly optimistic. Seems were always forced to buying a new device that's shipped with it to get that os. I'm glad zoom got to 3.2 its not the norm that I've seen. Were talking about whole upgrade not .1

Your non-us Xoom isnt a GED sadly (unless you bung on the US image)

so Nexus Prime would be the obvious choice, second I'd guess the Nexus S

after that it's probably a bit of a free-for-all who gets ICS updates - Moto/Samsung will probably want to be first with having a bit of current trend of being in favor of google, moto for the xoom + being pwnd by Goog, and Samsung trying to make themselves look good with the Nexus S and probably the Prime

If Nexus One owners are lucky they'll get a hint of the action too
