I installed two Samsung Galaxy S8 Whitestone Domes today. Went pretty well. Followed the instructions of the YouTube video to the letter. First one looks great, completely and seamlessly melded to the screen via the adhesive (a vile smelling solution) for an almost invisible application. Second one looks great, too.
They are not perfect, though. The first one developed a small string of bubbles on the left edge just under the curve after a few hours. The bubbles are very small, but clear enough upon inspection. Acceptable. Also, a very small chunk of adhesive is missing from a lower edge, probably from the an alcohol wipe-down after the second cure with uv light, leaving an almost pinpoint small light leak.
The second one's bottom edge and bottom left and right curves of the screen protector are clearly visible against the backdrop of the phone screen (perhaps the same reason one Amazon reviewer said that "the edges of the glass catches the screen light kinda like a LED strip light making it a glow around the screen"). From the side, viewing the screen protector's bottom in profile, it looks like a snow cornice or a cliff overhang compared to the fairly ninety degree cut of the glass at the top of the screen protector and on both the top and bottom of the first screen protector. Maybe I see it because the glue didn't get all the way down there and fill up the space underneath? I don't think so, but I don't know for sure. Inconsistent and a little frustrating, but acceptable for now.
The rest of the second screen protector melded to the screen, and is for all intents and purposes invisible except for the tiny tufts of dust and debris clinging to the adhesive here and there (almost invisible application). Be gentle removing dust and lint and debris for fear of taking out chunks of adhesive resulting in light leaks.
I have not yet activated the phones, I wanted protection first, so I cannot comment on how well the Whitestone Dome works. For the most part, so far it looks and feels great. I'll update after using the phone for a week or two. I do feel that for $45 there should be an extra tube or two of adhesive at least in case of a mistake or failure to launch.
In my opinion, not the perfect screen for protector the Samsung Galaxy S8, but the best one available currently.
Thank you.
