That's what I thought it was as well but I can assure you that's not what it is. If you used bondic you might not every get it off lol. Bondic is some incredibly strong stuff. Used it to repair crack in a dji phantom 3 pro. It's very similar but this stuff doesn't setup and get crazy hard like bondic does. Might be an altered formula or something not sure but I'm pretty sure it's not actually bondic.

PS it does not work with gear VR like I said it did earlier. Might have been a different thread can't remember. It does work but the pressure messes with the glue. I'm going to take my Dremel and slightly enlarge the holder on both sides and that should do the trick.
My kind of thinking right there (Source: I'm an engineer). +1

On Amazon, under questions, the manufacturer is saying there is NO warranty or guarantee on it, that's unacceptable, especially for something this expensive and with a good chance of installation issues, or problems with cases, I'm staying away until they back up their product.

Edit - They stated they follow the fulfilled by Amazon policy, which means since the company selling it has no warranty or guarantee, you're could end up out $45. They're out of China, so good luck getting help.
They should also provide an option to buy a 'top up' pack with everything except the UV device. I assume that can be reused multiple times, including on different phones.

How does it work with the gear VR?
With the protector on it is probably 1/2 mm thicker than the Gear VR slot. DO NOT put it in the Gear VR before the glue is thoroughly hardened (24-48 hr). I made this mistake and paid for it with some bubbles which I had to work out before the glue fully polymerized. It is an extremely tight fit since the Gear VR plastic will flex.

I agree. The viscosity is way lower and It also comes off too clean to be that. I got tricked by fake news. :)

I never thought conversation about a screen protector could be so indepth. This thread is brilliant :)
Well when it comes to these edges and glass screen protectors we need details...im pretty sure we all spent way too much money on unreliable products so yes I agree brilliant :good:

And for the DIYer here is the UV device. :)
You know I was thinking about this earlier, but theoretically, you could use this same process for any tempered glass protector you preferred, given you had access to the adhesive and light (the install tray and adhesive applicator would be a bonus to help with alignment). I give it a couple of weeks before someone tries this for themselves. I'll make sure to give them props on their steel cajones.

I'm a bit worried about what this glue does to the oleophobic coating of the display. If the protector needs to be removed, will the oleophobic coating (or parts of it) come off with the protector glue? I guess nobody knows at this point?

Oleophobic coatings are applied as a topical layer (not embedded in the glass itself), meaning that screen protector or no, it will erode over time and lose its effectiveness. If anyone would like to confirm whether the coating is or isn't harmed when using the Dome or a film, testing is as simple as placing a few drops of water on the screen...if it beads up, coating is good. If not, coating has faded. Good news is that you can buy a bottle of oleophobic fluid and apply very easily. Hope this helps someone.

Where can oleophobic coating be had?

Oleophobic coating remains mostly intact. I just ran mine under water and it all beads off still. Maybe a slight reduction in performance, it doesn't feel as slippery as it did before but that may be due to the alcohol wipes too.
Edit: I should probably say that it’s still hydrophobic, since that was a water based test. Oleophobic coating seems to have worn a bit. I find wiping off smudge a bit worse than before, but on par with my S7 that I’ve had for 7 months.

Automotive coatings such as Gtechniq ExoV3. Here is crystal serum lite topped with ExoV2 on my Grand Cherokee SRT. You can see how hydrophobic it is and it is actually harder than the cars clear coat so it add's actual protection to the paint. It is also super durable as in lasts a few years on automotive paint before it starts wearing off.
