I recently bought one and love it, but notice that android doesn't seem to like it very much. I have installed CyanogenMod 9.1 on it and its heaven accept that apps don't really support it (obviously) and the few that do run like **** unless I run the older versions. *sigh* if only it was 2012 again.

I use! After 3 years of retirement I made her handy again. Sitting in motorola dock with speaker as internet radio station and weather data screen.
CyanogenMod 11 dated July 2015 still rocks.

I want to upgrade to kitkat but the lack of tabletkat support keeps me from doing it. Plus I love ICS, its the last version of android I really LOVED.
That lockscreen
That Roboto all over UI
That cute easter egg
The OG holo UI - after that tron (granted, Android 3.2 was nice) ****, before that edited ****.

I love ICS so much. I think if we can start looking into other OS's besides android we might breath some new life into what I personally consider the most legendary Android Tablet ever made.

I recently brought mine back out. I had tried flashing it with Omni 5.1.1 but it was buggy, so I reverted to 4.4.4 (CM11 I think?) and it's working great! I've not bothered installing gapps, instead installing F-Droid. It now serves as my car navigation/media system, sitting on its dock doing it's thing. I overclocked some and it's quite stable, running awesome.

Incidentally, I'm looking to root and flash a second Xoom I have laying around but can't find any good instructions with active download links. Anyone happen to have these?

everything is on Android File host, just go on the site, search for "Motorola Xoom" and start browsing
You are alreay big part partitioned I see, but remember, to switch between bigpart and no bigpart you just flash the bigpart/non bigpart twrp, and format data and all other partitions (accept sdcard of course). not wipe, format to ext4.

XOOM still in use

I have used my MZ604 on and off over the years. Recently it went into the endless re-boot syndrome which I thought was hardware related as I tripped over the charger wire and bent the flimsy pin in the process. Tried taking it apart, disconnecting the battery, putting it in the freezer, swearing at it - all to no avail. Finally tried the dreaded factory reset which set it to Android 4.1.2 (can’t remember what the version was before) and to my surprise it works perfectly. Apart from having to re-do all the apps it’s a result I wasn’t expecting. Bit like getting an old friend back.
