I believe in God and in heaven, God or heaven don't do phones. These are for us here to enjoy using.

I agree with you, even though I have the, I had to have a Note 7 that I am still using, with 100% battery charge capacity.

Unless otherwise, I am keeping mine.:good:

Keep using it and you may be visiting God and the Heavens much, much sooner than you expected.

I don't get how you people are so retarded that you keep using a phone that has been proven, MANY TIMES to be a dangerous device. Do you not care bout your friends, family or property that you are willing to risk it going up in flames while sleeping because you just really like a phone?

You people are either just flat out crazy or oblivious to reality. These phones are banned from travel and being actively shut down for a reason.

Hi, would you mind telling me what was exact cause of those phones going up in flames?
Has anyone here had their phone bust in flames?

Battery is fits too snug...lame!

"Lame"? that is how science works. Things expand when they warm up, no room to expand? They blow up. That's exactly how a bomb works.

So let me guess, you also are one of those people that if you don't KNOW someone that had it happen then it's magically impossible for it to happen to you? Like to take gambles I see.

Samsung would not be taking the HUGE financial loss if they didn't think that it was logical to. They are willing to loose billions, but you are not willing to give up one phone that has a, even small, chance of hurting you, or others.

Interesting theory in where im sure other phones that have been introduce to the market had the same fit but never went up in flames.
There are a lot of reasons why this community decides not to return their phones the reasons in which you deemed unsafe to understand.

14 years ago people told me not to get a pitbull...media..... best years of my life but thats another subject. Not comparing, just something that jumped into my mind while typing the response.

Get back on the topic knitler or get out, we are aware! Don't try to understand.

No, you bright it up as a comparison or you wouldn't have mentioned it at all., and it's a horrible one. An animal can be trained and taken control of. You can't train a phone to not destroy itself.

I once ate an Apple. No comparison just came to mind.

Aer Lingus ???
there you go : http://blog.aerlingus.com/blog/2016/10/15/update-galaxy-note7
Generally there is a big problem to travel with note 7 right now... unless one doesn't flight. However I was told some ferry companies doesn't allow note 7 as well... haven't confirmation though

Can you actually read? It doesn't look like you can. Unless maybe you're one of those American types who cannot conceive that life exists outside America?

I love to live dangerously. On the edge, waiting for the BOOM at any moment. It's such a thrill knowing that 1000's may die at any moment.

Wow, stumbled upon this thread from Reddit (Hey Reddit!) and the level of stupidity is quite high.
You guys have a phone that can burst into flames any time, that is not going to get any update, that has NO ($0) resale value and that will be blacklisted in mere days. And yet none of you thought about returning to your carrier and/or Samsung, to get either another phone or to get a full refund (iirc, they offered that some time ago, they might still do). You literally bought a non-refundable $900 bomb with a stochastic trigger, and keep it in your pants throughout the day.

Yes IMEIs will be blacklisted, yes they can, and yes they will. No matter how much you complain when this happens, you won't be able to do anything. You might want to run a class action, but considering they wanted to refund your purchase and you decided not to do it, you are to blame.
Also, you won't be able to blame Samsung when your pants/car/house will catch fire due to the 5 minutes you left your phone unattended at the wrong moment.

Just get a refund, and buy the Note 8 when it comes out. You'll do yourself, your family, and everyone a favor.
If you guys like to waste $900, feel free to hit the "Donate" button on the left.

Why am I keeping my Note 7?
  1. Verizon has already issued me a full refund, so I literally have a free phone for the time being (I simply have to send in the phone to Verizon whenever I choose to upgrade.)
  2. The actual chance of the Note 7 "bursting into flames" is EXTREMELY low (also consider there have been 0 reports of a Note 7 exploding after 10 days of device possession. This suggests that burn rate decreases with time.)
  3. The Note 7 is simply the best phone on the planet. As soon as an equally or more appealing phone releases (like the S8), I will trade up.
It really comes down to this: I find it better to wait out the S8 release with a phone that is statistically extremely unlikely to burn (0.0014%) than to pay hundreds of dollars for a phone that I don't want (which I would be stuck with for at least two years).

You can tell me I'm being stupid all you want. In my mind, I'm being smart by taking advantage of the circumstances.

If my Note 7 happens to be the 0.0014%, that's on me. But excuse me for thinking that is unlikely to happen.

You really shouldn't have to justify yourself mate. Sad, isn't it.

I'm in exactly the same boat, only haven't had my refund yet, so I guess I will be returning mine fairly soon :( But it's been useful to hang on to it for as long as possible. There's no way I am signing up for 2 years for a phone that's not as good (S7) and which will be out of date in 3 months. So I will be back to using my very old S2 until March/April I guess.

Wow men! You with your aggressiveness can't distinct who is who and behave like everyone attacked you...
I've got my note 7 still on me and yes I can read what you do you think I didn't understand ? What I'm saying is it is difficult to travel with it. I for some reason did flight last 2 months 3 trips and left note home every time not because air companies allow/not allow to have it on me but because I didn't want to stand ahead of choice: leave phone behind or do not flight. You don't have power to change people mind eg force security on an airport to let you go if they decide otherwise. On the other side nobody will stop you in your everyday life to keep note 7 it is your toy so calm down a bit. And your remark about Americans I take as offensive to them although I'm not American myself.
As I said : I have got my note 7 on me and it is still 100% battery but for me it doesn't mean to bark at everybody who thinks I should give it back that is the difference between us. No copy.

Also found this thread from Reddit. Been on this forum for a while & i had higher thoughts of people on here.

"Low chance of it bursting into flames" - Have you guys looked at how many of these phones have exploded? There was a few EVERY WEEK and it was gone as far as being banned from Airplanes & HUGE fines even if you "forget about it"/try to get it on the planes.

ALL THESE DEVICES HAVE A CHANCE OF BURSTING INTO FLAMES. You're not safe just because you made it through the first 10 days.
https://www.instrumental.ai/blog/20...used-samsung-galaxy-note-7-battery-explosions

You're not allowed to have this phone anywhere. You're pretty much only allowed to use it at your own risk, in your home. If you live in an appartment connected to other peoples appartments, you're putting them at risk as well.

Enjoy the eventual fines you guys will face.

Dude- but pornhub in multiple windows.

ROFL, I'm just trolling. I don't even like the Note series. However, I know people in person who keep and still use their Note 7. I've been in the same room as him and his phone, and while I think he's a bit foolish, I'm not afraid of it exploding like a bomb. I think we're overdoing it a little.

To my knowledge there have been around 200 burns. Out of appx. 5 million devices (2.5 original Note 7's + 2.5 replacement Note 7's). If you think those chances are significant, you should really play the lotto more.

Additionally, I don't know how else to characterize a 0.0014% chance. If you don't like "low" maybe I can use "infinitessinal". If I said there was a "reasonable" or "high" chance of the Note 7 burning, I'd just be lying. 0.0014% is not anywhere near a reasonable worry...

I understand I can't fly with the Note 7, but I don't plan on flying until late next year. The S8 will be out by then. I'll exchange as soon as it releases.
Lol... fines...

Media exaggeration + fear mongering has completely dismantled the reality of the situation. An extremely small minority of these phones have burned. There is no other way to characterize a 0.0014% chance of a burn other than a "low chance".

I'm using mine, I dont have any problems with it, it never gets up to past 38C fast charging 3.0 + intense gaming, performance is amazing no lag or shutter even in pornhub with multi window. I cant complain about anything with this unit, I'm afraid they would actually send me a device that doesn't run as well as this one. I love this damn thing!

I don't know why anyone thinks its outrageous for Samsung to kill all the Note 7's from working. They have a corporate and legal responsibility for your safety now the device is deemed unsafe. Back in August I mentioned somewhere on the Note 7 forum that Samsung would deactivate all the devices. I mentioned they would try the softy softy approach first, and then for all the stubborn ones, do it the hard way.

Also, as painful as it is to say goodbye to the phone, anyone still using it is IMO totally irresponsible. I had 2 x Note 7's and was left totally frustrated as their wasn't anything similar to replace it with!

I disagree with almost every syllable of the above.

First, and very importantly, so I will emphasize this: Samsung do not own MY phone! It is MY property, not theirs. They have no right to go around willfully damaging other people's property, no matter what the moral or other responsibilities they may think they have. (Not that this has anything to do with safety any more, it's simply about Samsung wanting to do what's best for Samsung, which makes their actions even more unacceptable.)

Second, it is not "totally irresponsible" to use a device here in the UK when there have been thousands shipped here and no one solitary issue with any of them. You don't go around saying it's socially irresponsible to drive a car, but when you do, there's a chance you might crash and kill people. But the chances of that are deemed very low, so you are not deemed to be "totally irresponsible" to drive a car are you. The chance of problems is fundamental to the argument and since the chance of my phone overheating - let alone catching fire, and even more unlikely caused third party damage - are minuscule. It is not "totally irresponsible" to do something with minuscule chance of problems.
    6
Who is still using their Note 7 even though samsung told us to stop using and power down our phones? Im still using my Note 7 while waiting for my replacement but I'm a little concern now since I saw those news headline about Note 7 incidents one after another.

Are you still using your Note 7?
