I am devastated. Having owned my Note 7 since the third day after it was officially unveiled, I went through all the hassle of trying to keep it, even ignored Samsung offer of refund and so forth. Yesterday my screen cracked with the phone in my tracksuit pocket, there was no pressure or any impact. I was amazed to see the edge screen was cracked when I took the phone out of my pocket.

I feel sick! Now I have no option but to give it back!

This isn't the only phone with a dual curved screen is it? Are the screens for both phones the same size? If so, explore that option. I dread the day I drop my note 7. Hopefully when the note 8 comes out.

What other dual screen phone are you referring to?
I didn't even drop my phone, screen cracked whilst it was in my pocket under no pressure that I can remember.

I have dropped mine more times than I can count and have been extremely lucky that it has not cracked the screen even though it's dropped into metal surfaces and various objects hitting at the corners of the phone. ?

There's that outrageously expensive Huawei Mate 9, Porche edition. Looks almost exactly like a Note 7.

I was reffering to the S6 edge and up. They have dual curved displays that the note 7 copied. Based on my readings, the dual curved display is not going away anytime soon. The bad news, the S6 display is 5.1, whilst the Note 7 is 5.7. So you are going to have to hope samsung produces a 5.7 dual curved display phone in order to replace your current screen. They may have one already, I'm not a phone miricle worker, do some searches, call some phizone shops. Nic out

As unlikely as it is, even if I were to find a replacement screen from somewhere no one would fit it for me. I would also most certainly lose the water resistance feature.

Anyway, Samsung has accepted my refund acceptance form, I've been advised to keep my phone ready for collection. So sadly this will be the end until Note 8. I am keeping an eye on the rumoured HTC Ocean Note which is also rumoured to incorporate an stylus.

I have a question - if I were able to pick up a note 7 for cheap would rooting and flashing one of the roms on here get the Bluetooth wifi - lte working again or is it too late after they have been disabled by Samsung ?

Its is hard to say. which model would you get...
Some one can correct me if im wrong but the latest update that came out for the phone may not let you downgrade the firmware - if thats the case then why bother?
If you do get a phone with a previous ware and all packages blocked, and everything working fine then thats great but! the phone may be imei blocked or may be blocked in future.
You may get the phone thats both, imei blocked and firmware installed....
Lastly, not all N7s can be rooted and chances are the phone you get from canada will not be able to take root.

Root or firmware downgrade will not stop IMEI block which is what we are experiencing in Canada on most N7s. Some are still working fine. It may help you to have rootable phone as many still working on imei solution and it seams some rooted N7s are able to by pass that.

thats my 2cent, you make a choice

thanks for the reply - would be basically getting it for free - trade my note 5 and gear s for a s7 edge and note 7 - I already have 2 s7 edges and don't really need a third one but the s7e is a much better phone then the note 5 so might just do the deal anyway

if all the notifications were blocked and the note 7 currently gets data , wifi etc. would the worry of that being disabled be over as we are already past the date that Samsung pushed the updates to disable ?

HELP.... I don't want to turn my phone off/in

I hope I'm not too late, but I was hoping to be able to dodge them bricking my phone as well. Currently, I have turned off my wifi to prevent the new update from downloading. However, I am still stuck with only being able to charge my phone to 60%. Could you please forward me to the process that you implemented in order to revert your phone. That would be really helpful.

USA, original Note 7 user here, no issues other than samsung trying to brick MY device. Got the 60% forced update, reverted it back to 100%, blocked all updates. Yesterday they apparently sent out an update preventing charging, bluetooth, and wifi. Glad I took care of it before that happened. Maybe this is the end? Or is Samsung like a Final Fantasy boss where it keeps coming back stronger? Any word on if the next, (and hopefully final) step is the imei block? Maybe Samsung will track our phones and start hiring phone assassins. Maybe if I meet someone with a note 7, smash it, Samsung will send me a reward. They'll never suspect I myself have a note 7! Lol, this isn't a troll post, just tired and got out of hand.

Sent from my toilet using the Note 7 boiiii

The Mate 9 Pro is the same phone for those with less money to burn.
True but not available in the UK..
Note 7 cost me about 400 less granted but I've got 3 years replacement warranty and decent service from Huawei and Porsche Design.
It's a looked after investment...
I haven't got silly money to burn, I work 7 days a week, 15 hours a day and earn every penny but at the end of the day I'd rather spend a little extra and rest assured that anything goes wrong I can take it back...
Order the pro from China and I'm guessing there will be more than a 10 minute chat over the phone to get it sorted.

Working 105 hours a week? Man, you are insane. You only get 1 life you know, this is not a rehearsal. I work 0 hours per week, since i am taking a year's holiday :)

Word of advice to you...
Don't be self employed!
I'm not even counting the hours I spend doing the admin and background web stuff..
You enjoy your years holiday! I can't say I'm not jealous! Haven't had a holiday in 5 years.. So my Porsche Design mate 9 makes up for it haha
