their product? sorry but I paid full price for mine so I own it not them.

and yes they offered a 10 month old, small screened device with half the memory and no Spen as a replacement.

total BS and hardly an acceptable offer.

that said if they do end up offering a heavy discount for note 7 owners on their next samsung device that would somewhat attone for the previous insult at least.

Jeez, how did you manage to go through life before the almighty N7 beamed down from the heavens to grace us mere mortals with more features than we've ever had before?

The 7 Edge isn't a small screened device. It isn't an N7, it just can't be, but it is suitable. I too paid for my N7 outright and guess what, I took it right back to my carrier when I realized that there would be no more support for it moving forward.

I still use mine . Last day though. Battery still charges 100% but I just had to flight to East Europe and back and had to left my note home , it is too onerous if you flight more. Besides I bought Moto Z Play (64GB version) which is even not close to note 7 by spec but works in my opinion even faster and last on battery like nothing I had before plus I got some moto mods which make me less missing note 7 if any to be honest. Spoken with Samsung last Friday and was promised to get full refund so there you go...

Yeah I might consider the Moto Z Force if only they would sell it outside the US. It really p1sses me off about the lack of availability of good phones here in the UK. You can't buy an Axon 7 for love nor money. Ditto a Huawei Mate 9 Pro. I might consider either of those if only someone would sell one.

This is exactly problem I had... I wanted Moto Z play 64GB version which is available in China only. I even made a call to motorola UK help line and asked if they could sell me one, but they claimed that 64 Gb version of Moto Z play doesn't exist.... so I bought on aliexpress. Moto Z force is a beast, this is fact but Moto Z play gives same comfort when use. Generally I think that Moto Z series are very underrated. This is my first smartphone from Motorola and I think I'll stick with it for a while. :) Anyway - RIP note 7.

For me I can't find another option that I'm happy with but if your considering the moto what about the Korean rival lg I've seen it as slow as 450:

https://www.mobicity.co.uk/products/lg-v20-64gb-4g-lte-silver-unlocked?variant=32903611271

Well, this LG isn't bad. For some people it will be perfect match but my personal needs are a bit different so didn't even think about this LG. However if someone need replaceable battery + the newest technology + good camera + big screen this model is one of the best if not the only choices. :good:

On a different note..wouldn't it be ironic if after all this time, after the complete madness of the whole affair Samsung declared a certain batch of chargers at fault. Although this was highlighted as a possibility in the early days nothing would surprise me now.
Chargers are so cheaply made even the big brands are as guilty. We warranty exchanged numerous chargers when I worked in the industry.
My wife's s7 official charger was getting so hot we had to let in cool before we could unplug and swap out.

I believe in God and in heaven, God or heaven don't do phones. These are for us here to enjoy using.

I agree with you, even though I have the, I had to have a Note 7 that I am still using, with 100% battery charge capacity.

Unless otherwise, I am keeping mine.:good:

Fido finally been able to reach me today. I was avoiding them. Was shoveling the snow, listening to the music had no idea it was them. Told them straight up, Samsung return system sucks ass and I will continue using my N7. Thanked them for their understanding. =)

rogers told me I can bring it to any corporate store and exchange for theS7 edge...which wasnt a shocker.

but when I told them basically it sucks and I dont want it the CSR said i could also get a pixel XL or an iphone 7plus...which also suck if not even more so especially in the 32gb storage format....wtf am I going to do with 32gb lol?

at least I could sell the iphone or XL easy enough if push came to shove lol .

either way ill hang onto my note till the bitter end...

Did you miss the part where Fido is going to cut off cellular service to the phone even if you refuse the update?

Your phone's IMEI is going to be blacklisted on almost every carrier around the world within a matter of weeks, maybe sooner.

No, it isn't. Did you miss the part where the UK carriers have confirmed they have no plans to do this? And that the civil aviation authority here in the UK has no plans to ban the phone from flights either.

And should IMEI restrictions happen, then doubtless people can change their IMEI should they wish.

Perhaps you'd be better served peddling alternative propaganda on a different forum.

Small correction... Civil aviation didn't but air lines did... and they have right to do it.. I just did flight from East Midlands and I checked before thoroughly. It is not possible to carry Note 7 with you...
Just saying... I'm not happy to give my phone back too but it is getting more and more difficult to keep it.
I thing samsung should let people to keep their phones but they do what they do..

She seamed sorry for Samsung fiasco but all she wanted is me to acknowledge that I was aware Fido will disconnect the phone.
Which I am but like many others, not certained. We have yet to see what happens. I have an SMS from them saying they will diconnect the phone on dec 12 or after. Its still working. How are they are planning to do so, we shell see
Lets hope for the best

I'm using mine, I dont have any problems with it, it never gets up to past 38C fast charging 3.0 + intense gaming, performance is amazing no lag or shutter even in pornhub with multi window. I cant complain about anything with this unit, I'm afraid they would actually send me a device that doesn't run as well as this one. I love this damn thing!

I don't know why anyone thinks its outrageous for Samsung to kill all the Note 7's from working. They have a corporate and legal responsibility for your safety now the device is deemed unsafe. Back in August I mentioned somewhere on the Note 7 forum that Samsung would deactivate all the devices. I mentioned they would try the softy softy approach first, and then for all the stubborn ones, do it the hard way.

Also, as painful as it is to say goodbye to the phone, anyone still using it is IMO totally irresponsible. I had 2 x Note 7's and was left totally frustrated as their wasn't anything similar to replace it with!

I disagree with almost every syllable of the above.

First, and very importantly, so I will emphasize this: Samsung do not own MY phone! It is MY property, not theirs. They have no right to go around willfully damaging other people's property, no matter what the moral or other responsibilities they may think they have. (Not that this has anything to do with safety any more, it's simply about Samsung wanting to do what's best for Samsung, which makes their actions even more unacceptable.)

Second, it is not "totally irresponsible" to use a device here in the UK when there have been thousands shipped here and no one solitary issue with any of them. You don't go around saying it's socially irresponsible to drive a car, but when you do, there's a chance you might crash and kill people. But the chances of that are deemed very low, so you are not deemed to be "totally irresponsible" to drive a car are you. The chance of problems is fundamental to the argument and since the chance of my phone overheating - let alone catching fire, and even more unlikely caused third party damage - are minuscule. It is not "totally irresponsible" to do something with minuscule chance of problems.

Who is still using their Note 7 even though samsung told us to stop using and power down our phones? Im still using my Note 7 while waiting for my replacement but I'm a little concern now since I saw those news headline about Note 7 incidents one after another.

Are you still using your Note 7?

Wow, stumbled upon this thread from Reddit (Hey Reddit!) and the level of stupidity is quite high.
You guys have a phone that can burst into flames any time, that is not going to get any update, that has NO ($0) resale value and that will be blacklisted in mere days. And yet none of you thought about returning to your carrier and/or Samsung, to get either another phone or to get a full refund (iirc, they offered that some time ago, they might still do). You literally bought a non-refundable $900 bomb with a stochastic trigger, and keep it in your pants throughout the day.

Yes IMEIs will be blacklisted, yes they can, and yes they will. No matter how much you complain when this happens, you won't be able to do anything. You might want to run a class action, but considering they wanted to refund your purchase and you decided not to do it, you are to blame.
Also, you won't be able to blame Samsung when your pants/car/house will catch fire due to the 5 minutes you left your phone unattended at the wrong moment.

Just get a refund, and buy the Note 8 when it comes out. You'll do yourself, your family, and everyone a favor.
If you guys like to waste $900, feel free to hit the "Donate" button on the left.

Oh good grief, not another one.
