Why cant they just have the DAC go on?

Just like the V20 and the V30 th G7 DAC is only good sometimes. I plug in my SOL V10HD cans and bam, DAC turns on and actually kicks in. I plug in my Audio Technica ATH-M50x and dac turns on but doesnt "kick" in. Turning the DAC on and off with the M50x sounds the same. I remember the SW fix for the V10 that just kept it on AND kicking. And they hype the DAC, again, yet provide no earbuds. I am so glad I didn't pay for this crap.

i had the v30, and every time the DAC said it was on, it was clearly making a difference, regardless of headphones or app.

maybe you are talking about high impedance mode?
