Hey Mike,
I remember you from the Nexus 6 days. We both went to the Pixel 3 for the same reason (yet several times a week I wish for the old 6" 16:9 screen). How is the 4 coming from the 3... I just got my wife the 4 but will be sticking on the 3 myself.
Hey what's up ? Sorry for some reason I didn't see this notification until now. Hopefully your wife likes the Pixel 4. I have had the phone now for about 8 months. The camera from Pixel 1,2,3,4 has been "slightly" better each time, but I think unless you really scrutinize the pictures, they are good enough for point and shoot.
One thing I don't like about the Pixel 4 is it is slightly larger and heavier than the Pixel 3, but this is just being petty. The speakers are better on the Pixel 4, IMO and the display does not have issues. Camera is about the same, the face reader is sort of a gimmick for me (not important), but some people really enjoy it. I have disabled most of the radar gestures and finally my banking apps use face recognition, but the fingerprint was also fine for me as well.
I had a problem with my Pixel 3. The display failed after about 6 months and it kept flashing. Google took care of a replacement for me at no charge which I liked but I had to leave unexpectedly for a funeral and fortunately I had a 5X. That 5X had a bootloop last Dec so at this point I only have one device which is my Pixel 4.
My preference for Pixel has been:
1. Pixel 4
2. Pixel 2
3. Pixel 1
4. Pixel 3
The Pixel 1 was a bit too heavy, and the Pixel 3 just had a lot of issues. I saw there is a class action lawsuit regarding it which I am not surprised. It was the most problematic one out of all of them.
The Pixel has the best camera out of all the manufacturers (although others are good as well), plus it is a smaller phone and has instant updates each month so I still like it although the quality control issues leave a lot to be desired, but everything else has been positive.
