Why does my 8GB OP5T keeps killing my games?

My OP5T is the 8GB RAM variant. It should be able to keep much more in memory right? Apparently not!

It is stock OOS 5.0.4 other than unlocked bootloader, TWRP and Magisk.

I play Puzzle & Dragons NA and quite often just turn off the screen with it active. And about 30% of the time I turn the screen back on I will find myself at the home screen and I have to restart PAD.

I also usually have active Chrome (with 10 tabs open), a terminal emulator with tcpdump running as root, and both Japan and Taiwan of Chain Chronicle which is another hog in its own right. And they don't get killed as often. Not even close.

This is getting on my nerves and I can't figure out why. I can't see a reason the phone would have to kill the game. I don't even know if adjusting minfree would help. Nor do I know how to. So I need some help here.

Are you using a custom kernel?

No, it's stock, only patched by magisk for systemless root.

Gotcha. Try out Blu_Spark. The kernel increases background apps to 60. I forget what the default value is, but it's pretty low for an 8GB device. Should do the trick!

If that doesn't work, could be doze being aggressive. OOS is pretty aggressive with ram management.

I am experiencing this problem on all oos stable / beta and on many custom roms.
When I am not rooted, I am able to load and play Sachin Saga Cricket game (one of most popular game in India) without any issue.
But once I root (Magisk system less root) the game shows loading message, and within 3-4 seconds, game closes itself.
Any help will be aspretiated.

Used Magisk hide to hide root from the game. It is working without any issue now.
