You cant use module on your s7 also how long almost 90% of s7 are exynos variant so no custom roms no mods.....
Sir, I think you need to read up on the Exynos variant of the galaxy s7. One of the few flagship phones that have custom roms, recovery and mods have the Exynos processor. "MOST" of the snapdragon processor phones cannot be bootloader unlocked and cannot have custom roms. It's only recent that the international version of the G5 was bootloader unlocked and now there are few customs that available.

I love mine and I really did shop around before finally making the decision. I think the build quality is decent. Not iPhone good but still good (and the fingerprint scanner is much worse on that in my experience). The whole audio thing is over my head because about the only time I listen to it is when I'm in the shower. Nothing is for everyone, I guess.

I wish I could return my G5. Bought it off of Kijiji and I posted it after 5 days. Haven't gotten I call. I might have to take a 100$ hit or more to get rid of it.

I don't get why anyone would get an HTC 10- why purchase from a company that has been circling the drain for the past few years. They're not doing well as a company and i wouldn't want a phone that risks losing all support.

Can you give some examples of the G5 being more customizable than the S7? For me it's the other way around. I would love to be able to apply a theme and change the colors of the settings menu, which I can easily do with my s7 edge. So how exactly is the G5 more customizable?

I've been customizing my phones and themes with Nova Launcher for years now. Changing color of apps is a different story, so you have me there, but Ive always thought Samsung themes look rather crappy like something a teen did in Photoshop.

Have you seen the LG themes?

In short, the G5 feels poor, for a flagship. I knew about some of these issues beforehand but I didn't think they would bother me as much. I've never returned a phone before.

I'm coming to it from a Samsung S6 Edge and iPhone 6. I can include the Nexus 5 and even the HTC One X in here too. They all felt a lot better, smoother and cleaner.

I wanted the G5 + Hi-Fi Plus to replace the phone + audio player combination I've gotten used to (most recently, Sony Walkman NWZ-ZX2).

I still haven't received my Hi-Fi Plus. But even if it was great (it is essential, for me), it wouldn't make up for everything else.

It feels like there is a lip when you swipe from the side of the screen. It's not smooth glass like an iPhone, S6/S7 Edge, or Nexus 5. It doesn't feel nice.

The chrome trim around the back has hideous gaps. The bottom of the phone doesn't align along perfectly along the sides. I think this is shocking in this day and age. I can imagine Steve Jobs slapping you in the face if you tried to release something like this at Apple.

The fingerprint scanner doesn't always work and seems to be worse than my iPhone and the S6 Edge.

The battery life is mediocre, even without always-on display. With lighter than average use I can go a day. I would expect this to be reduced with the Hi-Fi Plus. I don't want to carry two batteries and I don't want to be swapping batteries until this one becomes suboptimal. But by that time I will probably want a new device.

The supposedly metal body feels like plastic, so what's the point of it? It's not as though plastic phones fall apart or melt in time. Moreover, this prevents wireless charging.

Audio quality through the standard headphone socket is dull. The fact that something can play 24-bit audio doesn't mean it will sound great.

The tapered top of the phone means that I can't use a screen protector. In the long term, this is not a good idea, especially without a case.

The fact that the Hi-Fi Plus makes it a little bigger means that I can't use a case.

I think I'll get the HTC 10 when it's released, because the S7 Edge isn't a worthwhile upgrade over a 128GB S6 Edge.
1. The standard audio is very good i am comparing it to a Note 5
2. HiFi plus is amazin.
3. Voia make cases for the HiFi plus
4. I like this phone so much i have 2
5. Both my phones are perfect in terms of build

Ive had the g5 for about 3 days now and so far I love it. I had concerns as well. Especially with the battery life and the camera. I came from s6 also. I played around with the camera and found my groove. The battery isnt as good but I just ordered the battery kit so that solves that issue. My biggest concern now is that the camera has light scratches on it. Anyone else notice that on theirs? It hasn't affected the picture quality as of yet. Hope it doesn't.

I kind of went on a similar journey. I started with the G5 loved it, but got scared off with all the bug reports. I tried out the S7 and it drove my crazy, I didn't care for the button set up and other things I don't want to get into. I brought it back and thought really hard about getting the HTC10. In the end I went back to the G5, I missed the camera and how smoothly the phone ran.

Watch this video and tell me if you still want to return your G5 https://youtu.be/dqXJHn-Us9U

These videos prove nothing. I am far from an LG G5 hater before you respond. I own the phone and i am very happy with it.

Its just like all the other "so called videos". All these "so called" tests are user dependant and im very sure if THAT phone was dropped into deeper water... more than a few inches.. The water pressure would have played a very much more destructive part.

I sell my G5 H850 after 2 Month now. There is no custom roms and this is not good. Other phones get custom roms after 1 month.

You should have more patience. It is still early days yet. Things are only now starting to slowly take off in development because achieving root has been a slow process for most models. I personally would not sell my G5 over this situation, as it is an amazing phone.

Bye, and dont let the door hit you in the arse on your way out.
BEat me to it LOL.

My 4 day old G5 is pretty good, and besides the case quality (my life proof case has put a row of dots or indents down either side on the back of the phone) and the battery being so small in capacity, I do not have any issues.

I actually had the G5 then returned it got the htc10 returned it and now im back to the G5. The 10 was just too bare bones and expensive for the money. No standout feature like the camera and battery on the G5. Plus I got the G5 for $440 on ebay lol

Have to say, for my use case, this phone is near perfect. So fast, not an awful UX overlay, amazing creative potential with the widescreen lens. Yes, in the nude the phone could feel a bit unfinished but in a case (and what kinda person wouldn't use a case when out an about?) you don't feel it. Horses for courses, I guess.
