Hey! I thought in the "Good Ol' USA" we got EVERYTHING FIRST! LOL! Including all the bugs, I guess, but yeah - For the longest I always see complaints or posts from folks worldwide waiting patiently (and sometimes NOT so patiently) for FOTO roll outs, whether its for the Prime or Phones or whatever. Now, I have been waiting for 9.4.2.19 (or .20 as Gary Key Hinted is a possibility) I see in this thread:
v9.4.2.19 New Features http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1556446

"At the end of this week Transform Prime owners are delighted with a new FOTA v9.4.2.19 update "
Does that mean they are delighted with the FW itself, or delighted to be GETTING it? Either way it seems to indicate that Asus has turned it's sights on the rest of the world to roll out and do real world testing, which makes me wonder if they are just trying a new sequence, or if they are tired of the Bitching and Moaning from US users when they roll a FW here.
I like the changelog, but like most folks I am more interested in fixes than I am in features or in Functions. For example, stuff like this:
+ Support the USB to LAN cable of UX series (Accessory)
yeah, I know, it's a TABLET, and as such should be super portable and WIRELESS. BUT... Because WiFi isn't exactly stellar even on the BEST, fully functioning Primes (Please spare me your Speed Test numbers and WiFi Analyzer db readings, I realize that it can produce decent WiFi under the right conditions, I am just stating the the Prime is not known to be a WiFi beast, and perhaps the hundreds of threads on the subject serve to corroborate the statement)
This could be just the tool to use for a huge download, or, say moving large videos to the tablet from a laptop or desktop in the house. Sure, it will be limited to USB 2.0 (oh, if Asus had only thrown a 3.0 USB connection on the Prime... sigh)
My multi-part question would be: What does this adapter look like, where can I get it, and how much?
People are saying this update doesn't add much, which I find comical, especially considering that since ICS first rolled out (at .11 I believe) there have been essentially NO NEW FEATURES AT ALL. Asus has been too busy chasing reboots, WiFi throughput, screen banding etc. to add features. While these don't amount to "life changing" additions, it is the largest combined set of feature upgrades we have seen since the initial 4.0.3 ICS. Personally? I can't WAIT to get my hands on it, LOL. I want to try the HDMI settings for one. And see the Lock screen additions... whee.
Just PLEASE Asus, try not to break anything again, and leave the GPS as you had it for .14 - .15 killed all functionality for me -yeah I know, and it FIXED yours, right? Well they can't please everyone, so they might as well fix mine, LOL! SO: I checked for an update to see if anything was available and CRAP! I have an update. Why am I not happy? Well, I rolled back to .14 to resolve a couple of issues (successfully) and when .15 kept notifying me I just ignored it and eventually it felt unloved and went away. It has not bothered me since (about a month) but now... how the heck am I supposed to get .19 (or.20) without doing this first? There is nothing in .15 update that I want, and there are a few things that cause me issues, so ideally I would like to skip it, bypass it, leapfrog it, WHATEVER, LOL! and get to .19 from .14
a) is it possible?
b) would I have to wait for the .19 or .20 to be available for a manual update?
I am open to ANY ideas here...
