Wi-Fi must be turned off and on again to reconnect

Lately, I must turn off Wi-Fi and turn it back on to connect to any Wi-Fi source. Even if the device has just been sleeping.

Any suggestions besides throwing this thing away which is what I'd like to do?

Ah, never mind. I did yet another wipe and restore and that particular problem has gone away for now.

Same problem here. After deep sleep i have to turn wifi off and on again to be able to reconnect to my router.
