Huawei battety optimizations mixed with doze are very s*tty and just as much ineffective. I often get my Fb messenger notifications late, but other apps like snapchat dont even send them anymore. Even my own app does not work that uses and oreo optimized third-party library. My advice is that dont expect a solution from devs, we cannot do anything about it unfortunately :(

I went back to 7 as well. But there might be light at the end of the tunnel :)
- Business Calendar 2 Beta has a Huawei Workaround
- Some report that Nova Launcher 'Restart widgets on resume'-setting works

Thanks to you I have enabled Lab features in Nova, and checked restart widgets.
I'll keep you all posted if it helps.

why? All widgets I use are working well. So in MY opinion its not Huawei fault. But just my opinion.

Ok.
Are you using Huawei widgets? The biggest problem is, when you contact the programmers of the non working widgets. They can't fix it because the widgets works on non Huawei phones, and they don't have Huawei phones.
One of the reasons for that I have been using Android phones for so many years, is that I'm able to customize the layout with widgets. So only having a few widgets available is not good for me. So I was hoping that Huawei will fix it, so their phones will work like their competitors do.

Or. They might have fixed it in the meantime. Since they actually acknowledged the fault.

When I was on B360 widgets weren't refreshing . On the new B369 they refresh . I checked the option in Nova Launcher in Labs menu the option for refreshing . But before I install nova ( fresh install) they were refreshing normally !

So for B360 Oreo I can confirm that business calendar widget seems to work with Nova launcher and refresh widget option. (Google calendar works but no tasks and no configuration, aCalendar+ seems to work but does not synchronize).

Hello, I still have this issue with version 369 on my P10.
"Wunderlist" and "Business Calendar" Widgets are not updating and some apps can not be launched using "Pie Control".

This state did not change since the update to Oreo like 4 Months ago.

Yes. I did the OTA to Oreo. After that I did factory reset, just to clean up the system a bit...

    Workaround

The refresh button from the BC2 widget doesn't work when it freezes.
When I unlock my screen, I use a "Automate" script (Link to the community) to flip the screen to landscape and back to portrait. Screenshot of the script attached to this post. The Huawei Launcher doesn't rotate (or I couldn't find the option) so I use Nova instead.
This simple workaround reloads all my widgets. I still hope there will be a fix soon, but atm that works for me and is like an unlock animation we had in the older Android days.

    Support answer

    Hi,

I got in contact with Huawei Support, and unbelievable I got a response (it's in German).

They are sorry that the widgets are not updating on Huawei P10 EMUI 8, and they understand that I'm angry.

Huawei knows about the update problems of the widgets and they are working on a solution. As soon as this bug is solved, an update will send OTA.

They ask for some patience and my understanding.

    We will see.

    Cheers.

Using Nova but I don't know how to test resume option.
Press Volume Down in the Nova settings for the lab. Option "Restart widgets..."Lab Guide

I've got an update this morning, seems to be in the newest productive version of the app now (2.29)

    To solve it:
    - Go to battery option in the app and turn off 'manage automatically'
    - Manage manually: all options turned on.
