I am not a fan of changing phones every year. but this drives me crazy. Waiting several months and no solution. my widgets dont update. Sometimes I receive notification when my network changes from home to roaming, or from roaming to wifi... otherwise I dont receive any notifications except Gmail, and whatsapp. Also no background apps work.

my phone is on 8.0.0.371 (c432) ( no newer updates found) emui 8.00

as I said many times for me its working well. What widgets do not work on your device? i am also on B371.

I did a full factory reset and restored my apps. and still same.
im on B375.

several calendar widgets that show list view stop refreshing after while (I have a feeling it stops when it changes from wifi to cellular or vice versa, I noticed when roaming(once a month) and network switched to roaming data I received notifications from my apps, when I come to home network I dont receive anything. )
Lot of applications that have background notification stop working. for example MyCitroen app showed me notification about my trip each time I turn off my car. Now this does not happen unless I manually run the app.
application LetGO sent me notification each time someone contacted me, now I have to manually open app to check messages. I have a bitcion checker that notified me with sound of price rise or price drop, also does not work. + many many apps.
Its funny that whatsapp works al the time and sends notification immediately when I receive message but other apps dont.

Everything works if I reboot phone, but stops after a while.

must say before that happened (quite lot months ago) I was very happy with huawei, great phone. But now with this problem. My phone is useless. dont know what to do.

Check out the background process settings.. was here discused many times. Huawei have a preset of which apps he doesnt shut down for battery saving. so When yo uhave a app not listed, the automatic scheduler wil sometimes kill the process. So you have ot manualy disable the autokill . :)

So still the same problem even with 375. Sorry to hear that. But your findings with the connectivity changes are interessting. Maybe Wi-Fi to Standby, or even the provider? My friend has a Mate 10 with the freeze bug and we use the same provider. Well he just switched to a calendar widget with a Huawei workaround and that helped...

huawei calendar widget is working for me all the time since Oreo update....
What firm of widget you use(if not a secret)? Standart from huawei ROM? It does not freeze during 3 days?

To solve it:
- Go to battery option in the app and turn off 'manage automatically'
- Manage manually: all options turned on.
It did not help to me(Huawei P Smart, Oreo 8.0). Yes -
the application does not stop, but widget freeze after some time and contains old data (yesterday) and refresh button not work.

Yes. I did the OTA to Oreo. After that I did factory reset, just to clean up the system a bit...

    Workaround

The refresh button from the BC2 widget doesn't work when it freezes.
When I unlock my screen, I use a "Automate" script (Link to the community) to flip the screen to landscape and back to portrait. Screenshot of the script attached to this post. The Huawei Launcher doesn't rotate (or I couldn't find the option) so I use Nova instead.
This simple workaround reloads all my widgets. I still hope there will be a fix soon, but atm that works for me and is like an unlock animation we had in the older Android days.

    Support answer

    Hi,

I got in contact with Huawei Support, and unbelievable I got a response (it's in German).

They are sorry that the widgets are not updating on Huawei P10 EMUI 8, and they understand that I'm angry.

Huawei knows about the update problems of the widgets and they are working on a solution. As soon as this bug is solved, an update will send OTA.

They ask for some patience and my understanding.

    We will see.

    Cheers.

Using Nova but I don't know how to test resume option.
Press Volume Down in the Nova settings for the lab. Option "Restart widgets..."Lab Guide
    @Swaddy
Where do you find beta version so I Can try and report.
I've got an update this morning, seems to be in the newest productive version of the app now (2.29)
