I learned from description of TP-LINK Archer T4U that
Whenever there is only wired Internet connection, you can activate the SoftAP function of the Archer T4U after installing the bundled utility software, and create a Wi-Fi hotspot for mobile devices. This feature is useful when travelling to places where there is only one cable for Internet and mutiple people have to use the Internet.
So I assume I can connect my smartphone to my USB-stick equipped PC by 802.11AC 5GHz connection without any 802.11AC nearby routers
Now, my question is, whether it is only TP-LINK Archer T4U which can make a SoftAP under Windows or any other WiFi USB-stick can do the same trick? Does that depend on Windows or vendor's drivers and software?
