I recently bought the S4 Mini i9190 (standard 3G model) I was well aware of the different variants when i purchased. The seller was offering all 3.
Phone was purchased unlocked / new.
I have a 20 mbps internet connection at home and an apple AP extreme router. We have no problems with our devices. There are other smartphones here such as iPhone and Blackberry without issue. Wifi keeps dropping off drastically or cutting out and coming back on the i9190. I am really disappointed. Interestingly enough I had the same issue with a GS3 that I tried for a few days back in April before returning to the store.
I did not have those Wifi issues with a Moto XT926 or the iPhone 5c. Regular iPhone 5 gave me WiFi fits and there is a thread on Apples official forums with 1 million views detailing that issue which was very phone specific.
The seller is willing to give me a refund outright or exchange for one of the other models 9192 or 9195 OR perhaps S4 Active (with some added $$ of course). I'm wondering what I should do.
There is a youtube video about S4 and wifi problems, and changing the encryption cypher from TKIP to AES. I don't know if this is possible on my router. I am just really disappointed. Otherwise its a great phone. With only 1 GB of data per month, i want to use WiFi as much as possible
