I need feedback on the latest nightly. I'm not sure if I've fixed all wifi issues or not with the latest update. I hope I fixed at least some of the issues people are having.

Please test only with the stock kernel for now.

Stock kernel nightly 106. Was able to download nightly 107 from rom manager on my nook. This is the first time I have ever been able to do this as internet connectivity would always die in the middle of a big download like this (and wifi icon would still be there)

Thanks!

latest nightly/kernel
Seems to have improved things a bit, though I still find Netflix
almost impossible to get to load up any movie for me. Able to login & see my movie offerings, just nothing will play, always get the error message
Pandora works a bit better , though it stopped after 15 minutes, with "loading" spinning for a while till I stopped it. Market seems to load up fast & work, so I guess I'm using that as a yardstick to measure that some progress in this wifi issue is improved. If this wifi bug gets squashed, I call CM7 "near perfection"

Upgrade to 107 and lastest Oct kernel from beta3.1, wpa2 working and wifi is stable no drop. Used to have disconnection every 5 min with wpa2. Can only run WPA1 in beta 3.1.
This is great!!!

Seems that I was a bit premature with initial findings. It's MUCH more steady/stable than before, I had TuneIt radio w/ Soma FM playing for several hours till I turned it off, and was able to watch Netflix uninterrupted .

@sorun343 What is "lastest Oct kernel from beta3.1"??

Put a fork in it. Two days and wireless is still absolutely flawless. I would suggest anyone having issues to at least nandroid what you have, do a full wipe and try it for yourself that way.

Edit: oh, and do NOT restore system settings with titanium backup.

Stop Network Location

I have been having the Wifi issue. I checked out my running programs and came across "Network Locations" in the All tab. I stopped the program. Turned the Wifi off and on and I can hold a connection.

Just wanted to chime in here- maybe it will help someone...
A few days ago, I switched over to cable internet and had to reset my router (Netgear N300)

Before that, I had WEP security settings and no wifi problems, using any cm7 nightly with any kernel. I'm using cm7 #111 and 6/18 kernel now.

After resetting the router and going through the network security setup again, I decided to just go with the recommended setting: WPA-PSK [TKIP] + WPA2-PSK [AES]

Everything else in my house could connect except my nook. I tried renaming the device, forgetting all connections, turning off network location, etc. and still couldn't connect. (It seemed to connect, but immediately got bumped/dropped, and cycled like that a few tines before giving up.)

When I set up a guest network on the same router, but this time used WPA-PSK [TKIP] security, it connected right away.

I know close to nothing about wireless networking, but figured I'd mention it. Hopefully that helps....

I've seen several mentions of people setting their wifi so that it turns off when the display goes dark. I've look thru all setting options but don't see anything that would allow me to set it like that. Any help?

Go to Settings>Wireless & networks>Wi-Fi Settings then press menu and go to Advanced. The options are there under Wi-Fi Sleep Policy.

By the way, I use Wireless Tether on my Droid a lot for internet access on my NC when I don't have a wifi connection. Yesterday, I went into the wifi loop of death, where it recognized Wifi Tether, but wouldn't connect and kept scanning and getting IP address and disconnecting. I tried forgetting the Wireless Tether on my NC and inputting the authentication data again, reflashing the Dalingrin 6/18 kernel, going from nightly 115 to 116 and flashing the kernel again, and none of it worked. Finally, I wiped data from the Wireless Tether apk on my Droid and then set up my wifi encryption and access controls again manually, and the NC connected again right away. I'm just putting this out there in case it helps anyone with a similar issue.

ok..strange. Under Wireless & Networks, all I see is:
Airplane Mode
WiFi (on or off)
WiFi Settings (which only has WiFi (enabled or not enable), Network Notifications, and Add WiFi Network. No Advanced option

I'm on n107 - /8/16 OC kernel

Go to wifi settings. When you're on that screen, you have to hit the menu button- the 'advanced' option will pop up.
