WiFi issue (cannot obtain an IP)? What is the symbol?

Qustion 1:

From time to time, I lose connection to my WiFi. When I check on it, it says that it failed to obtain an IP address. If I click on it again, it connects fine. Anyone has this issue?
I came from an iPhone 6sPlus and Android phones before that. Never had this type of issues. I have an AC2600 Mu-Mimo router made by TP-Link.

Question 2:

I noticed that the WiFi symbol on the Note 8 is the typical WiFi symbol, but with a circle toward the right side. What is this? What does it mean? (it changes from a regular symbol to this symbol with a circle).

Thank you.

Thanks for the responses guys. For the symbol part, after I took a screenshot and zoomed in, it actually is a wifi symbol with a + . LOL I have bad eyes. So, I Google that and it means Wifi Calling is enabled... I have AT&T.

As far as the not able to obtain an IP address, I've already rebooted the router to no avail. It doesn't happen all the time. So, I still need to figure that one out.

I think it means your connected to the network but do not have internet access. Happens to me from time to time. I have sprint version, but I'm pretty sure it's the routers fault and not the phones

That could be it, but I didn't have this issue with my previous iPhone, or previous Android phones. Now, I am looking at trying a different router... it gets expensive...
