Hi, I have two major questions about this tablet.

1. How long should I expect for the root access?

2. Any info about the LTE version? LTE bands?

Thanks in advance!

After purchasing Xperia Z3 I am eying Z4 tablet as well. I wonder if they'll release LTE version for US market with AWS HSPA bands (1700/2100) that T mobile uses in addition to LTE bands.

Here

android-root-guide.com # tutorial # sony-xperia-z4-tablet-lte.html

(replace the " # " by "/", couldn't post the original link as a new user)

is a guide that claims root access to the Z4 LTE tablet can be gained by a one-click-method. I haven't tried it out yet (and don't really trust it).

Root access to the z4 tablet would definitely be very nice to have. Any reliable source is appreciated!

Get a TWRP

This website appears like a scam to me:
- same text for several devices one could come up with
- same "testimonials"
- the text touts a lollipo-upgrade for the Z4 tablet ???!!

You should get root this way:
1. Go to SONY developer world and obtain an unlock code for your Tablet
2. unlock via fastboot
3. get a TWRP-Recovery image for the Z4 (THAT is NOT available right now, building it my self seems very hard due to my limited experience)
4. Boot into Recovery and flash SuperSU.zip

________
we need a working recovery like twrp, thats correct... AndroPlus mentioned that the recovery for Z2 + Z4T stock kernel could work.
He will work on it as soon as he gets his Z4T.

LTE works with T-Mobile network (B3:1800/B7:2600/B20:800) in Germany.

Here's what gsmarena says about the bands:
2G bands GSM 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900
3G bands HSDPA 850 / 900 / 1900 / 2100
4G bands LTE band 1(2100), 2(1900), 3(1800), 4(1700/2100), 5(850), 7(2600), 8(900), 12(700), 17(700), 20(800), 28(700), 40(2300)
Speed HSPA 42.2/5.76 Mbps, LTE Cat6 300/50 Mbps
GPRS/EDGE Up to 107/296 kbps
which is consistent with my observations.
