There IS a stable lineage release. I'm currently running it! Check the roms section
Presumably he means an OFFICIAL Lineage OS release with OTA updates that is obtainable from the Lineage website as is the case with the original Swift. Without that we're stuck with out of date official Wileyfox firmware or an unofficial Lineage release.

How stable is it though? What kind of problems do you run into? And is it updated frequently?
I've found it excellent up to now. Been using it for months. They tend to update it OTA when there's an android update. Had a problem ages ago that was a common bug (forget what it was now) but it's been fixed a long time ago.

Thanks for the quick reply! The xda page says that fingerprint and nfc are not working. Is this still the case? I need nfc for banking...
The fingerprint works absolutely fine! I use mine to unlock etc. Only issue is that some apps (like my banking app) recognises the custom rom and won't allow fingerprint access. It still let's me log ok though. Nfc I'm not sure as I don't really use it. It's worked here and there when I've been playing with the phone but I can't comment extensively on that one.

My banking app allowed fingerprint access once I told magisk to hide from it. May help you if applicable.

If I'm honest I only installed it for root control that still allowed me to use android pay. Old root methods fail safety net. I just went to the magisk thread and went from there.

As far as lineage goes it has been rock steady for me.

Indeed. Although I have since switched to lineage 14.1 and I am quite satisfied. No hassle to remove bloatware and it has a few features that I previously missed. OTA updates work, too. Finally no more waiting for official Wileyfox recovery images.

I'm a bit leery of moving to Lineage because I'm afraid that I won't be able to use my banking apps on a rooted/non-original ROM.

True concern... I have just had to go back to stock (and relock the B/L) from LineageOS as my Banking app updated to a greater security level. NOTHING fixed it and I tried everything.

I'm lucky with my bank, app works fine with root, but I do need to hide root to use login with fingerprint.
