Will A Digitizer Specified For A Different Carrier Still Work(Service Not Needed)

I believe I broke the digitizer on my Galaxy S4(Boost Mobile variant). The screen is fine but I was(previously) able to kind of see things, in certain areas, but if I pressed on the screen it made strange trippy looking colors. Anyways, the only digitizers that I can find seem to be for T-Mobile, Verizon, and other carriers; or they cost more than the phone itself. I don't necessarily need service on this phone, I just want it working. But obviously the option the have service would be nice.

If I try one of these digitzers that are labeled for another carrier, will it work?

Whether or not it will work depends on the software differences between the device you have and the device the digitizer comes from. If there are driver differences then you'll have to modify your kernel/software to work with it. If there are form factor differences then you won't be able to interchange them.

Thanks for answering.

I'm beginning to realize that with these older phones and with lower end phones as well, I'm better off just buying an entire phone rather than purchasing the digitizer.

This is a link from another forum where someone provides a compatibility list on interchangeable digitizers for the Galaxy S4 devices.

I wish you the best of luck!

Thanks. I just bought a used phone because it was the same price as the digitizer. I swapped the screen and now I have an extra S4 board to play with. Set up SSH on it and Tasker to turn on the hotspot at boot. Kind of fun.
