is it rw tho? thats the question. im sure the script he used on the s22 ultra may work?

Are you talking about system partitions? Those are read-only due to the new FS used in Android 13 shipped devices (EROFS), the only way to write in those partitions is to recreate them manually as r/w, but nowadays it's just better to use bind mount via a Magisk module.

I have explained 100 times (while on S22) this but users are just crazy for non secure rw lol! I ended with making System-RW ROMS

Hi ,
For those who have rooted their phone, have you unlocked OEM permanently ? If yes, how ? Thank you for your answers

Enable OEM Unlock in Developer Options, once done reboot in Download Mode (hold volume up+volume down while plugging an USB cable with the device powered off) and unlock the bootloader from there.

In preparation for when root is available for the other models, I assume I can just unlock the bootloader now which will wipe the phone and then after that I can copy my media back on to the phone without having to worry about wiping the phone again?

You'll have to wipe again your data partition once you flash a Magisk patched tar due to the non-valid decrypt key caused by flashing a custom vbmeta image. Btw you can patch yourself the AP tar with this test build of Magisk, it's been confirmed to be working. It's just a matter of time before it gets merged in the official app

Thanks very much. My s23+ comes tomorrow so I'll do that.

Oem unlock
Unlock bootloader
Install test magisk
Patch ap file
Flash with odin using normal csc not home
Good to go and then I can install zygisk and all the safteynet stuff.

It's been a while so I hope I've got that correct. BTW do you happen to know the firmware to search for in frija for s23+ UK model?

S23+ model number should be "SM-S916B", CSC is "EUX".

Forgot to ask about this bit. Is this everytime including when you update to a newer firmware or only the first time?
If you flash magisk patched firmware on existing magisk patched then no wipe needed. But always better to make backup of data before flashing ROM in case something went wrong

Thanks! Screw America for forcing Samsung to lock the damn bootloader.. honestly up in arms about this. lol
I'm in the same situation as you and I WOULD NOT recommend buying a UK version of this phone. I made the same mistake twice for the Note 20, bought a Chinese SD version and an Exynos/UK version Note 20 and both had BAD band support for T-Mobile. I'm talking in some areas I'd be lucky to get 20 up/4 down mbps and in most cases, I was getting 1up/1down download speeds. I ended up finding a very rare Note 20 Ultra for T-Mobile still on a bootloader unlockable firmware and that was after spending so much of 2 useless phones.

It was a horrible experience for an overall amazing phone. As trash as it may be, I'd hold faith in SOMEONE cracking the bootloader for the US version since they're all using Snapdragon now, but I wouldn't dare waste time with buying the UK version because I promise, you will regret it.
