Will there be a Custom Rom?

Hey there. Yes I started to working on something regarding a tucana bringup, and actually make stuff buildable, but I started that upon a friend request (I have nowadays just a Mi 8). In the end he sold his device and I never got actually to check everything if it's bootable or not, but after sometime @0201m PMed on TG and here and told that it wasn't bootable (reboots straight to fastboot).
As I don't have the device I don't have any intentions in continuing working on tucana sources. If I somehow get a device unit (donation through crowdfunding or even myself getting a job and getting enough money to buy a Mi Note 10 after the corona crisis settle down) I can, and will actually, continue working on it without a doubt (maybe LineageOS officials. PixelExperience builds are a for sure). Anyway if I never get one, the trees, kernel and vendor sources are open on my GitHub and GitLab for anyone build and try fix. I won't risk blind building and put someone's device in risk. I may know a solution for this situation, as I have known some cases that were similar, but yet as I said I won't risk in order to not f*ckup anyones device (my friend live next to my house so I could get to his device easily)
I hope you guys can understand the situation and somehow sorry for not doing much more about, I know how much some of you guys want to get a AOSP based ROM for the Mi Note 10 (Mainly by the amount of PMs I received recently about that that on both TG and here at XDA)

Ok, I think that's the right decision (maybe not but who knows...), as some people already started sending some amounts (A huge thank you for those who have sent already until now). I decided to make this a bit more official, so yeah a crowdfunding it's open then for me get a Mi Note 10 (tucana).
The device will be used for development purposes, ending up in the development of LineageOS and PixelExperience for it.
Disclaimer: If any moderator see this post and find something wrong, DM me to figure out the fast solution for the issue.
The amount required would be around 2500 BRL, which in dollars are ~430USD at the moment.
So far:
May 11th: 145.32/430USD
May 12th/13th/14th: 165.95/430USD
May 15th/16th: 192.30/430USD
May 17th/18th/19th/20th/21st/22nd/23rd: 238.05/430USD
May 24th: 309.09/450USD(with USD to BRL quotation updated)
May 25th: 330.97/450USD
As I live in Brazil I don't have access to any kind of fundraiser tool that can properly convert from any foreign coin to BRL (not even the crowdfunding option on PayPal so does the PayPal.me service isn't available here neither), I'll have to be using my PayPal account and for those who live in Brazil and would like to support too I have a picpay account which I'll be providing the link too. I'll try my best to keep the amount received up-to-date.

You aren't required to donate if you don't want. Please don't spread hate towards me or anyone else for any means. If the goal isn't achieved within sometime (around one and half month) I'll stop this crowdfunding and those who want their money back can DM me here on XDA or on Telegram with the transaction id and then I'll get the return of the amounts ASAP. DON'T SEND THE DONATIONS/PAYMENTS AS "PRESENT" OTHERWISE I WON'T BE ABLE TO RETURN THE MONEY CORRECTLY IF THAT HAPPENS

In that case I can't create it as per XDA rules as far as I remember, so if any of you guys want to create a thread about it fell free to and I'll put the same info there after all.
Are you able to share your build configuration so I can pick up and try to build my way to success? I found your repos (which led me to this thread), but not sure which other supporting sources I should be building with.
I think between the Device tree work here, and the GSI that's reportedly working with bugs, it should be doable to get a running image up. Happy to try to contribute but need somewhere to start from. Build starts at the moment but is complaining about various missing modules which I know will just be a version or branch issue with a supporting library.

device_xiaomi_{tucana/sm6150-common} on my github, main branch (lineage-17.1), proprietary_vendor_xiaomi on my gitlab, same branch, android_kernel_xiaomi_sm6150 on my github lineage-17.1, tho it the kernel doesn't boot and goes straight to the fastboot.
Other patches might be required on the ROM side, but I don't have how to send them all for now, but all are at LineageOS gerrit.

15Ok, a bit of updates, mainly because I do feel that you guys deserve.
First one: I'm going to temporary close the crowdfunding. "Why? The goal wasn't reached yet neither is being one and a half month" I know, yet @Genomey could found a cheap Mi Note 10 on eBay and got it for about 252 USD. I'm going to wait for him get the device on his end and check and if everything is ok I'll send the money to him while he send me the device. "What will happen with the remaining amount?" 63.74 USD (or 347.01 BRL) are from me, I already had it or got it by my own in the meanwhile.
The total amount donated was of 267.22 USD. (1454.61 BRL).
Second is: In the meanwhile me and @0201m were working on the device sources and testing (huge shout out for him for helping in testing and troubleshooting) and so far: Kernel boots, everything builds, but yet depending of which blobs/vendor binaries you use the device reboots to recovery. Also when we managed to make it boot, the display service was dead (which means it's stuck on the Mi logo while the system already booted) XD (Not joking at all, me and him almost lost our minds cause of that ;_; ). In short:there are same some efforts trying to get custom Roms but nothing groundbreaking yet.
I am working on the device tree right now to compile from source. Not ready yet and don't have the device in hand right now (should arrive soon) s.o. else is trying with treble images.7
Still trying to figure out about the main cam sensor. Took those days off due the fact I am a student after all and had a bunch of works from collage to do. As I said to another people: until I get, at least, the main cam working from the not working list (which also includes NFC and proximity sensor), I won't do a public release and that's final. All the other camera sensors are being registered properly FYI.7
Well. I got the device already, unlocked it too. Main camera, IR and NFC are dead at the moment. Rest is working
Sent from my MI 8 using XDA Labs6Update of the situation (again): About the custom ROM start up progress: As it seems to be clear a lead was taken on what's wrong about the display (finally and kudos for @alibei for sharing his finds) things should start go more smoothly. I'm rebasing the sources and double checking everything ATM. And about the device that @Genomey found on eBay, well that didn't go well... He then sent 200 USD to covering up money for me buying a tucana here at Brazil, and so do it, I did start looking already for a device in here since then. I should be be buying definately around this week (that's my hopes at least)
