Heard that there won't be an official 8.0 update.
So I wonder will there be a third party 8.X rom.

Stock is stable enough already and Lenovo has more updates for this year and next year, this device is still new.I think it is strongly believed that we won't get android O. I hope we get at least anothet update for 7.1 official
And for custom roms we have our own dev now so that depends upon him
:highfive:What is galiieo????I just really hope Lenovo release an update which enable Galileo since the phone supports it, it could be added in a custom ROM but that would likely be very hard to do without there being sources in the stock ROM.
It's not new news but, whatever happens.. happen. What is galiieo????

And a news for information is that lenovo doesn't develop the update for our device its moto which create updates for our device. And for verify go to apps and search for device manager and and under that it show the name motorola mobility not the lenovo inc etc and for more clarification there is official news that lenovo stop the phone branding and other process and gave this operation to moto and lenovo will now focus more on laptops zuk branding and vr ar etc like things and also market strategies so moto now handles our device but all the forums will be on lenovo forum only but only for lenovo devices

Now lets see if moto give us android 8 or not or else moto also be like lenovo
I would be surprised by that. As Galileo use requires licensing and the P2 is considered a mid-tier or even now that the price dropped a budget phone. I doubt Lenovo would have bothered to pay licensing fee's to add to the total cost of "bill of materials".I just really hope Lenovo release an update which enable Galileo since the phone supports it, it could be added in a custom ROM but that would likely be very hard to do without there being sources in the stock ROM.

But please proof me wrong.
Please point me to the official statement from Lenovo that the P2 supports Galileo. OR Some fundamental technical proof of a whitepaper that the chip which is inbuild in the P2 actually supports Galileo.
Thanks for the findings.http://www.usegalileo.eu/EN/inner.html#data=smartphone
Galileo eligible devices and chipsets lists.
No Lenovo P2, but there's mention of Snapdragon 625.
