My Mugen Power 1300 mAH battery arrived yesterday and it seems to last longer than the stock battery.
I'll keep you posted and tell you more about my findings after using it for a week or two.

Regarding the battery in the Evo, check out this link.

http://www.goodandevo.net/2010/11/htc-evo-4g-vs-htc-hd7-in-photos.html

There is a picture halfway down the page showing an Evo and a HD7 side-by-side with the back cover off. The Evo looks to have a physically larger battery which no doubt contributes to it's higher Mah rating.

I was also initially optimistic when I learned about the Evo's 1500 battery since I also assumed that the phones were identical 'under the hood'.

alright good news. i got my 3900mah battery, its awesome. pics and a review will come later.
i was on ebay and saw 2200mah battery by yoobao and many 1500mah batteries and 1300mah batteries which claim better quality and longer battery life.

but would anyone know how to check how much time or % battery life remaining?

EDIT PICS! Please let me know if you need more

After using it for 2 weeks, I can tell you the Mugen 1300 mAH battery definetaly lasts around 20-25% longer than the stock battery.

Alright review on the 3900mah battery.
I used it the whole day 6am-11pm with all features of the device turned on. That is XBOX Live, Wifi, Bluetooth, Location, Faster location mapping, two to three hours of music/video and 5-6 hours of talk time. There was still enough battery remaining and the orange light didnt come on. It charges up full at night.

$99 is a lot of money for a battery. how much does the back stick out? is it a lot? i wonder where you put your phone because i doubt if it fits in your pocket.

It fits in my pocket easily and a perfect case for it is the PSP go case. Yes the battery does stick out quite a bit. But not enough to obstruct normal daily use. I can carry my phone around without worrying about battery life for the entire day. No charger required for the whole day.
