Why do you say that? Port will probably be super easy as the changes are small.
It's best to wait and see.
I'll give you an example (taking the official Cyanogenmod support as reference): the Nexus 4 (made by LG for Google) is nothing more than a version/configuration of their own LG Optimus G (with less storage, camera sensor with less MP and 4G disabled), yet the Nexus 4 still has good support (official CM13, maybe upcoming CM14.1) while the Optimus G support died earlier (officially nothing after CM12.1).

Never underestimate the hassle of small caveats or how a small(er) user-base may allow it to be forgotten.

Its on my radar now. I want a phone that can be rooted for sure will never go with Carrier Branded phone again (ATT Note 4). I like my note 4 but its time to pass it on to kid. I was looking at LG V20 but no root in sight so its out. Pixel XL is what I was planning on but I just dont see it for the price. If the camera is on par with Pixel or G7, this will be a hard one to pass on, (depending how many months we have to wait for it after announce on Tuesday)

If GPS is better

I have avoided purchase of the Oneplus 3 due to the feedback in the forums about the GPS being pretty bad. If the feedback on the T is better I may purchase one.

I've waited 4 weeks for my +3 to finnaly arrive yesterday, only to find out after 6 months a newer version is alreadycomming. I'll probably use my option to refund this version and for just 80$ more buy the newer version.
Exactly what I am doing :D I am getting mine on Wednesday! If you initiate the RMA within 15 days of receipt, you are good to go!

No, because my OP3 arrived on October 29th, making November 13th the last day I could return it for a refund...which is two days before the OP3T announcement. ಠ_ಠ
Guess what? I confirmed with the Customer Care that you only need to initiate the return process within the 15 days!

This doesnt mean they have to get the phone back in 15 days!

So you are good to go man!

Probably not. Nobody is going to develop for it since they've already invested in the 3.
If there is demand, things will happen! :) I am certain... Also because of having Qualcomm processors...

I'm expecting this to have the features required to make this a more competitive phone against other flagships. If it does, I will likely buy it over the Axon 7, LG G5 dual and v20 dual. Pricing won't be an issue when you compare to LG. It would need to have bootloader unlock and/or root fairly quickly though for me to make the purchase.

Yes, I right now I am planning to buy it. Firstly I planned to buy the Google Pixel, but after I saw the price, then I instantly realized that it's not worth it (at least in my opinion).
Now I am aiming towards OnePlus 3T, hopefully that won't disappoint me as much.

Depends on the UK price 4me (OP3 was 329UKPound) - I assume the 3 will be dropped altogether from the range. Once the OP goes towards the 400UKPound mark it's beginning to look like an expensive handset though there is no doubting it would still be decent VFM. I'm SIM only contract which runs out Feb and there may be some offers post Xmas .... problem is I NEED a new handset NOW :(

I was looking to replace my S6 with note 7 then explodes etc.. were around so i was looking to nexus 6p then i just decide to wait for the pixel xl, i was very disappointed with price no sd no front speakers blah blah blah, then i tried to look at LG V20, but the community is very small and it seems very hard to root it find ROM/Kernels.

So it seems OP3 with 821, not a bad idea since I own OP2 i know what company im looking after.

So YES!!

Totally. Was about to order the OP3, luckily they announced the OP3T before I placed my order. I'm just wondering, since they use the 821, will the "standard" OP3 Roms work with the 3T as well or do they have to recompile them? Or is it even more complex and they have to change the code slightly?
The many different available Roms were one of the main reasons why I decided to buy a OP3, now I'm curious how the support will be for the 3T.
