Secure folder works on rooted too. Still it needs some patch. I have posted screenshot of secure folder yday on my root guide thread. Samsung pay won't. Still trying to work spay on gear, it is working on N8/N9 but yet not able to fix on N10. But I am on holidays and no twrp so cant dig much.
Would you mind pointing to any instructions for enabling Secure Folder? I need to sell my old rooted S10+ :D

Thanks!

I have SD, so probably will take a while, if ever to get root. and probably would have to find workarounds for Spay and couple other programs I use, so probably not for at least 6-12 months even if the root is possible .

I use to root every phone I owned, I wouldn't buy a phone if it was locked down.

I bought the SD S10+ knowing I wouldn't be able to root, and I didn't miss it. The main thing I was worried about was ad blocking but Disconnect Pro takes care of that.

I bought the OnePlus 7 Pro and rooted it but I hated the in hand feel of the phone so that was sold and I now have the Note 10+ and the S10+.

I don't miss always trying to stay one step ahead of Google to keep Google Pay working.

Honestly, Samsung's OneUI is really nice and has almost all the features baked in, so I find no reason to root the Note 10+ or S10+.

I can't imagine not rooting a phone. But it could be a reality very soon.
I would really miss flashing custom ROMs though.
The only other thing was call recording, but my Note 8 has got that without an app. Although I had to flash a custom ROM to get it to work.
The only thing I can think of, is my tracking software, Cerberus. That has more features on a rooted phone.

Due to spouse connections at AT&T, I was able to get the AT&T Note 10+ (256gb/12 GB ram) at less than $500 out the door. Big concern for me with a locked device was ad blocking, theming and ability to use (and theme) the Google Dialer. I also have perpetual subscriptions to Adguard which is doing a great job blocking ads. Using synergy, substratum lite and Pitchblack S and everything I like themed in Amoled black looks the same as my rooted Note 9 device. The added benefit of being able to use Google pay, Samsung pay and ATT call features out of the box (without me manipulating CSCs) is a plus. Two years ago I switched to Tidal HiFi and use the "Get" Bluetooth DAC for music, so I'm good to go on that front. For now I have no desire for a rooted Note 10+; if that changes I'll get an Exynos version. ?

I use to be really into rooting however like many people have mentioned here the reasons to root have diminished over time. The last few phones I rooted were for custom kernels, Viper audio, and system wide ad blocking.

I setup a Pihole and VPN at home so ad blocking is no longer an issue, and performance on the N10+ has been solid so there is little to no reason for me to root anymore.
