Question Will You Upgrade to Pixel 7 / Pro?

Verizon offered me $800 for my 6 Pro so I switched to the 14 Pro Max. The Pixel Watch using a 4 year old SOC and the Pixel 7 using the same (garbage) modem means I'll be using the iPhone for at least a year.

I have a 6 Pro and im trying to hold off and see what features get ported over. The only way ill upgrade is if the Black Friday deals beat out the preorder trade ins.

Please check your facts, not the same modem... It is a brand new modem. And we must all test and verify because that is our nature and the reason we join XDA. Hurrah for XDA !

The more I think about it, the more I'm tempted to upgrade just so I have better trade-in equity on the P8P when it comes out.

I mean as for upgrading i just bought the pixel 6 pro really late and an upgrade with a trade in will still run me around $300. i think im going to wait for the bugs for the new tensor chip to be worked out.. i mean it might be buggy at first and im not willing to give up my root just yet knowing that it will take some time to gain root on the pixel 7 pro

I had a pre order but I cancelled a day before release date. Seeing most reviews they mostly all mention software based upgrades. That's cool and all, I just can't justify spending $500 on top of P6 pro trade in for the similar hardware. I'm hoping most of the features come with time to the 6 pro. I got down voted to hell on Reddit but it's just the truth guys, the pixel 7 pro isn't worth the upgrade. I'm hoping for an actual new tensor chip for pixel 8 pro and a flat screen along with ultrasonic fingerprint scanner. Just wishful thinking though.

As mentioned before I don't see the reason for upgrade from 6Pro to 7Pro. The camera seems to be better but on most cases, except super zoom or for the macro function, the picture quality is similar to the predecessor.
Especially having spent the money for the 6 Pro just in May, on a phone that is generally ok, but I should complain that a basic function as the face unlock wasn't yet release, and might be used as incentive to change. Perhaps I will consider for the 8 Pro.

Yup, similar to what I did. I pre-ordered on Amazon and was supposed to get the phone on Oct 13th. For whatever reason there was a delay, Amazon said they would contact me when the delivery date is known. That gave me some time to read and watch numerous reviews. And yeah, I guess I realized the upgrade to the 7P is just not worth it (to me). I'm keeping the P6P for the time being.

Exactly. Most camera comparisons on youtube have very similar results. I also thought the whole visor change would help with sun glare but apparently its still there. This year they had youtubers hype up the phone big time. Im waiting for the 8 Pro with hopefully a flat screen and frosted back

I didn't lose signal once all day at work yesterday on the 7, where I used to have to reset my connection at least once every couple hours on my 6 pro. I just drove to a particularly bad spot that usually gives me borderline unusable signal on the 6 pro and did a side-by-side. Surprisingly I actually got some usable signal on the 6 pro (must be because I was there earlier than usual with less mobile congestion), but still my 7 pro signal was noticeably more stable/faster. Obviously not everyone will have the same experience as I do, but safe to say I'm pleased

Best Buy has a pretty damn good trade in going on till 10/23...My P6P 128GB came in at $545, plus they are giving a $200 Best Buy card. So my trade in would be $240 after those refunds...Man, I am tempted.

Well, I did it. I pulled the trigger.
I traded in at the Google store and here's why.
The P7P is not a big upgrade, but it IS an upgrade. Enough of one to make it worth it.

My P6P - the battery life, the connectivity issues, and my notification sounds disappearing when I connect to the BT in my work van until I reboot were major factors but the trade-in equity that I'll have for the P8P is too important to pass up.

Any issues the P7P has like this reported Brightness/Battery issue will most likely get addressed in an update.
