I've been having the problem where windows 8 kept deactivating itself and for the life of me couldn't figure out why, it happened shortly after the launch, but it would randomly fix itself whilst I was away from my computer. By deactivating itself, I mean windows required activation again, even after I have activated it. I figured I'd wait and see if anybody else had this problem as it didn't really stop me from doing anything, just informed me I wasn't activated. Today, I looked again for a solution, I came upon this thread http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/...-message/c2b9eb1f-e57e-47c6-9960-72342b798b2a which suggested that another person was having the exact same error and error code as me, a Galaxy Nexus was the culprit. So, after a short time of trying again and again with the same error message, I unplug my phone and straight away problem solved it activated. So I decide to plug my phone back in and unlock my phone. Surprise surprise, my computer was not activated, and refused to activate. Unplugged phone, again, instant activation. I tried again with USB debugging disabled. Same problem, with an instant fix of uplugging my phone. I really don't get why nobody else would of noticed a problem like this if it was android phones in general, but with my phone doing it, and a nexus.
Does anybody know how I could solve this, what the problem is?

Wow this happens to me all the time!
And I just now figured out why it does... after I reformatted and reinstalled Windows 8 three times.
I am glad to at least know what caused it but I dont know how to solve this annoying problem. Not only does Windows deactivate itself it happens to Office 2013, too.
Im using a Galaxy S2 with AOKP.

I have a sgs3 as well but haven't had any issues like what you described. What os are you running ? The early jellybean leaks were having the phones show up as an installer, rather than a phone or anything with mtp. I don't believe I plugged my phone into my laptop for several days but its not causing issues like that. I do magically have a new folder called Verizon android or something like that with a log file only inside of it, that does have several errors listed.

Oh, fyi I'm running the newest jellybean leak on my phone, the first leak was what came out and was on my phone the first time I plugged it in, if that helps.

well this is odd, I have a Galaxy SIII LTE international (i9305 with exynos quad with 2GB of ram rather than US carrierfied version) and this hasn't ever happened to me on my windows 8 install yet.
