LOL, so actually you were very helpful! Knowing the users are gone after a reboot let's me know not to waste any more of my time on it, that's basically the biggest help you could have given!

I'm not really sure of the specifics, but the "master account" is "Parental Control", and the user account is beneath that. Then any extra accounts are created as ephemeral users and only last for the current session until you reboot. They also start out as completely fresh Fire accounts with all the stuff you've disabled now reactivated and will require Toolbox to be run on each of them to disable those things. It's so much work that I never even bothered with extra accounts.

Hi. I used this back during the V24 tool, and then lost my tablet. Well I found the tablet yesterday and I did a dumb after work today upon turning it on...I was tired and without thinking I updated Magisk...Now I get an Amazon logo bootloop.

To make matters worse, I'm generally pretty good at backing up for these scenarios but I do not have a backup here...

Okay, upon reviewing everything and getting it set back up, I see there's an option for "Vanced Manager". Vanced is dead as of like March 2022. They distributed modified APK's so they received a cease and desist and had to shut down.

I don't wanna tell you what to do, but Revanced is a pretty good alternative and the new hotness, and you may wanna load that one in?

Hi all,
My daughter has Kindle Fire HD 8 2020 and for over two years everything was great. Once customized with FTB after buying it works great. Until somehow we got an update. i don't know how it happened. in fact i have now Fire HD 8 with 7.3.2.7 firmware and i cant make Google services to login. (circle is spinning and then there is an error about unable to connect google, even before entering login)
I've tried to delete and reinstall services via newest FTB 30.3
I've tried to wipe all (factory default) and install google services from FTB
I've tried to wipe all (factory default) and install latest google services from apkmirror.com
And nothing works. Is there any solution for my case?
I can live with awful amazon launcher, i can deal with all the **** installed from Amazon.
But i need Google services for normal Youtube kids.
Please give me directions what can i do?

Check you local internet connection settings; something may have been recently changed to block access to Google servers and allow access to Amazon servers.

idk why but it dont work with my home wifi, maybe the problem is with ADGUARD dns on router, but it worked with smartphone hotspot for google login.
Now after login all works fine with Wifi.

You're correct to surmise that the DNS filters on your home router are the source of your problem. Adjust/change DNS white lists/black lists as required.

If you're still concerned with blocking Amazon servers, here's specific list of IPs involved, as provided by @blaacksheep :

I've been running toolbox since I purchased my hd10 nearly two years ago without any issue or updates. Still running 7.3.1.9. Reading this forum has me wondering whether I'm at risk of getting unwanted updates. I currently have one app (Microsoft 365) on the tablet from Amazon. Everything else is from google play. No alexa, shopping, kindle etc.

My tablet is showing that it is registered to my amazon account.

Is there anything I should do to avoid updates such as deregister from Amazon, remove the one amazon app on the tablet, use RethinkDNS? I occasionally use a VPN ( private internet access).

Any advice is appreciated.

It sounds to me like you're fine. You can always check if you have OTA Updates disabled by going to Settings > Device Options > System Updates on your tablet. If it throws you back to Settings, then OTA Updates are disabled. If not, and it shows your current version, run the latest version of Toolbox and turn off OTA Updates and Automatic Updates.

It sounds to me like you're fine. You can always check if you have OTA Updates disabled by going to Settings > Device Options > System Updates on your tablet. If it throws you back to Settings, then OTA Updates are disabled. If not, and it shows your current version, run the latest version of Toolbox and turn off OTA Updates and Automatic Updates.

Thanks! I did as you suggested and it reverts to settings as usual. Maybe I was reading too many posts about random updates I couldn't find any common cause that was updating tablets despite OTA being turned off, so wanted to make sure I wasn't at risk.
