Just making sure that eveyrone knows that about the new build of the Windows Phone Developer Tools that came out yesterday, including a new build of the Windows Phone 7 image for the emulator. That cleared, has anyone figured out how to unlock it for full features?

Since this is x86 code and the HD2 is not an x86 processor, that would take some not so minor miracle

Today Microsoft announced a new version of the development tools for Windows Phone 7, which probably includes a newer version of the image used in the emulator. It would be great to get an unlocked version of this image, unless of course it is already unlocked (installing now).

I hope the features are still in there. The OS loading is done in 20 secs now, so either stuff is missing, or Microsoft are miracle workers.
Well, the WP7 team objective is a OS loading in less than 17 seconds. So excpect the final release to be even faster
I've downloaded it from this post. not sure how he made it. This is the second time I use ROM tools tho
ROM is compressed, it will dump it, but you have to uncompress it also.
Dump ROM with XIPPort
1. Misc->Decompres. Select file you want to decompres
2. You can find your file in OUT\DECOMPRESSED folder.
The same goes with compress. Also when you change file, you should update .imageinfo.txt with the new filesize (HEX bytes) and the compressed filesize.
How do you decompress the .dll and .exe files?

I recentley contacted htc to tell them that I think we all deserve an apology for having to void our warrantys because the OS they delivered on the hd2 is flawed/unfinished and un-reliable, and that apology should come in the form of an update for WP7. I didnt metion that I use mattcfroyo of course, nor did I mention any names or websites in relation to this matter, but I just told them that I was tired of all the speculation on whether it is coming to us, and he said, Ican help you with this, there are no information on new updates for your device. please refer to out website for future updates. and thats it! so how can certain people be so sure that we are, so much so, that they bicker and defend this news in forums that I have been in. They kind of remind me of radical american christians but with WP7 as their god and they are willing to burn anyone who questions their faith. I would love to try it, but I certainley havent got my hopes up.

1) We already knew WP7 wasn't coming officially to the HD2. And that's a Microsoft thing not an HTC thing; you called the wrong company. The way you are describing the conversation I'm surprised he was as nice to you as you claim.
2) What does nationality or religion have to do with anything? I'd keep the bigoted metaphors out of these forums.
3) This is not about an official version but a port either via nand or emulator on SD like the haret we use for Android (more probable), which is possible so far as some of us can tell.
Hi, I just started into this emulator thing, downloaded developer tools yesterday, it woks fine, with new app it runs the emulator and IE woks nice, but after downloading the Rom here(WM70full and WM70c1), when I type:
XDE WMfull.bin
in CMD no thing happens.
what do I do wrong?

1Cook your own WMp7 ROM
You can cook your own emulator ROM with WP7
Here is the tools:
BOOOFF and XIPPort.
With B000FF:
1. Convert BIN->NB0
2. In ReplaceFiles hit "NB0 map" to get the file listing of the ROM
3. (PROFIT!)
4. Apply changes to file (or remove them) (It's applying changes directly, so be carefull)
5. Convert NB0->BIN
6. Apply "Fix 12" (Select original .bin file, and the converted one)
7. Run emulator
"C:\%PROGRAM FILES%\Microsoft XDE\1.0\XDE.exe" "%YOUR BIN HERE"
With XIPPort:
You are able to make a full dump of ROM
1. Hit "dump .bin". It will create an "OUT" folder with "FILES" and "MODULES" subfolder. You can modify files, or remove them.
2. When you done,hit "write .nb0" it will create a .nb0 file from OUT folder.
3. Use B000FF to convert nb0->bin and apply "Fix 12" (from step 5 in B000FF)11
