Windows Phone 7 ease of use kind of questions.

I just bought Samsung Omnia 7 and I have few questions regarding its usability, both hardware and software wise.. I will ask them to you later, but first let me tell you my story.

I have been using WM from year WM6 for last 5 years than waited for 1 year using a free Cingular Flip phone for last one year and now I have finally bought this gorgeous piece Samsung Omnia 7.

I live in New York so I bought it from Expansys USA, on their website they have listed only 8GB model which are priced at 535 USD, I could have bought it from Amazon for cheaper but Amazon sells its Omnia from France and their is no such thing as a bird called 3G .. so all Omnias from France dont have 3G capability here in US, Expansys sells its Omnia from Germany which has 3G and so I paid premium just be safe.

Instead of 8GB as mentioned on website, they sent me 16GB model and with a free car charger. Free car charger because wall charger dosent work and USB cable is too short.

Ok thanks for listening, here are my few questions, please tell me how to solve this puzzle? :

1. How can I change volume from the screen, instead of using hardware button always? Any swipe or something please?

2. Is there a way to put a tile with 'Lock Screen' Action? I dont want to manually press the button every time.

3. How can I save settings in Camera?

4. Copy Paste dosent work for me, I can highlight a word by tapping on it, but no copy icon shows up, I tap and hold but no drop down comes in. I dont know why.. may I can re-install the Nodo update somehow? I am not even sure whether I have Nodo, but I can definitely highlight a word by tapping on it.

5. Is their a way to make the drop down menu for the music player, one which comes down when we press the low volume button while playing music, can we make that menu stay their a little bit longer?

4. you don't have nodo, many omnia 7 users don't either. you can check the version number in the about phone screen in settings

btw the french phone should work in USA on AT&T 3G.. but nice that you got 16gb

Hi mate,

1) No, there's no other way yet than using the hardware keys.

2) As far as there's no app that does it, you can't pin the lockscreen action to your home screen. I doubt that there's an app for that matter, since the APIs are still quite limited. But this is about to change with the mango update coming in fall. Maybe then you'll find a lockscreen app.

3) You currently can't save camera settings. The only way to achieve that is by unlocking your phone (there are several how to threads here on XDA, take a look).

4) Highlighting words was always possible, doesn't mean you can copy and paste them. Seems you don't have Nodo right now. Plugin your device in your PC, start Zune, go to settings and check for updates there.

5) Nope, it's definitely not possible so far. Maybe there's a registry value that can be edited in a way to make it last longer. But again, that would mean you have to unlock your device first.

Is that Nodo? I remember my phone asked me to update in the first boot itself.

Nodo is 7390
