Phone let me go in usb MainOS drive, but your tool says version not suported.
It is latest wp10 beta for 1020. Can I still get root?
Thanks for great work btw! :)

I have a 1020 and last build is 10.0.10586.36
Very strange. I'm using fast ring insider preview too. It says no more updates. Any chance to support .29? I can manually access mainOS drive.
NVM! It worked after i used insider app again and selected fast ring, now i can update to .36 ! :)

Hi Heathcliff74! Thank you for your great job! I successfully unlocked a Lumia 820 phone with Windos Phone 8.1.

I have only a question. Now I have a unlocked phone with root access and registry access, but how can I access to the file system and to the registry? There are some Windows Phone applications compatible with WP Internals with the ability to access to file system and/or to registry?

Thank you a lot!
You can use the Windows Phone Internals tool to get the phone in Mass Storage Mode (or reboot phone and keep camera-button pressed while booting). When you are in Mass Storage Mode you can access the files and load the registry hives. Be aware that you should not edit the file-permissions. If you don't have access to certain files, run a file-browser or registry-editor under the SYSTEM-account. Read the "Getting started" section of the tool for more details about that.

Ok. Now I'm getting "Failed to enable Root Access on MainOS". :(
Was trying on windows 8.1 pro. Works perfect on windows 10.
Silly me.
Thanks @Heathcliff74 for great work!
Oh. You mean Win 8.1 has the same problem as Win 7 had? I only applied the fix for this error for Win 7 machines. Probably I should apply the same fix for Win 8 machines. I will implement that for the next version of Windows Phone Internals.

Yeah. Seems like it. I don't know the details tho. Phone gets mounted as usb in either system.
Btw I actually rooted for changing ttl value on phone since my carrier blocks tethering, but alas no luck...
Seems like adding DefaultTTL dword with 127 value to HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Tcpip\Parameters does nothing :(
Maybe they cut that from mobile version of windows?

Hm. I think you're using an old version of Windows Phone Internals. Make sure you're using version 1.2. Then try to enable Root Access again.

I don't see how TTL is related to Internet Sharing. Look in other threads here on XDA. I'm quite sure you can find the necessary registry settings to enable Internet Sharing.

There are many files with resources. I don't know exactly where all the icons are. It is also possible that you need to clear the icon-cache on the phone.
i tried on a new flashed one. can you give me the icon-cache folder? besides, when I change them, the NavBar accepted changes on my demand, each time I change it, it shows up, not the Systray

Right now I wish I had a supported device xD Got 630, 1520 and 950 XL xD There's so much stuff I'd love to do, ex. rewrite my old WP7 app ROMAbout for Win10Mo ! That would be sweet for chefs I think. But I'd need a rooted device so I can test changes xD
