Just got toolbox to work and as someone else said, for such a productive piece of software kinda surprised that its a "coffeeware" app. Im kinda hooked on toonblast. The only game that after seeing an advertisement for an android game, over, and over and over-got it. Im hooked. In trying to sideload it - might just be able to get it through google apps - a funny situation came up. Toolbox is programed to accept APK's. Many new apks are also available or only available in XAPK format. Toolbox wont accept an XAPK because it only recognizes apks. Bug? I guess u need a fix and I need to send you a cup of coffee....or is there something im missing.

You can install an xapk installer from apkpure to install your game. Link

I was thinking of apkmirror's installer which is available in Google's Play Store here.

As far as donating a cup of coffee for the Toolbox, there has never been any obligation to do so. It's strictly up to you. If you feel that the Toolbox has been of some benefit to you, and you would like to express some gratitude to Datastream33 for his work on and support of the Toolbox, then feel free to buy him a cup (or pot) of coffee.

Edit: I think I misread your comment as being "put off" by the need to buy Datastream some coffee. Now that I re-read it, it appears more like you are surprised pleasantly by it being "coffeeware" and not requiring payment. I'm sorry that I gave you a somewhat diminutive response. I was tired. Hi I'm new to forum but got interested in this app since I wanted to customize my 11 gen Fire HD. Everything installed correctly and I had no problem doing some changes but I have stumbled across one that I can't find any kinda info to help work out. The parental controls keep blocking my ability to look at images I've moved from my PC to the tablet and the parental controls are not on at all! I even turned them off and on to see if that would make it work but it has not. Everytime I open the camera to access my gallery it keeps sending to turn off parental controls to view images but I go there and they are off and when I turn them on I do not see an option to grant access to the camera at all. What can I do? Thank you.

Hello, i have an issue with the Google Assistent. After a voice command, for example: Hey Google play minimalmix radio of tunein to item in bedroom, eveything works. But after a while, the google assitent is gone (the mic in the status bar disappeared). I have to go in the settings and change the standard app to none and back to google to get it working again and the mic symbol is shown in the status bar. This happens after every voice command. Without a voice command the mic symbol never disappears in the status bar. Any solution for this problem?

The Toolbox is strictly fueled by the desire to improve the Fire Tablet experiance and of course brighten someone's day! if the Toolbox can put a smile on someone's face then it's all worth it 100%. However, If you'd like to donate a coffee then I won't stop you!

Unfortunately, the Toolbox not accepting XAPKs isn't a bug. The Toolbox doesn't support XAPKs because they are a whole different beast compared to traditional APKs and require a lot more work to get them installed. However, I'm currently working on adding support for them so keep on the lookout for the next update...

Parental Control messages usually appear if an an integrated activity fails to launch. Try restoring the Amazon Prime Photos app in the Manage Amazon Apps simple manual subtool and see if that helps. Best of luck and please let us know how it goes!

Thanks. Not quite what I was looking for, but it will do.

It used to be possible to hide an app so Play doesn't even see it.
Maybe that's not possible any more, or maybe it takes rooting the tablet. I just don't want to invest the eternal vigilance to be sure root survives Amazon's updates. Too many other shiny objects clamoring for my attention.

At least turning off auto-update will keep Play from mangling that app. I'll make myself content with that.

More information: I switch on (Standby) the Fire HD 10 (2019), i said: OK Google play Radio on the device bedroom. The music starts playing. I switch off (Standby) my Fire HD and after switch on again the mic symbol in the status bar disappears after 3 seconds.

Hello! I was using old ver of toolbox, and disabled the navi bar with it but noticed an issue in landscape mode (navi bar shows up on bottom and all UI was misaligned to left by navi bar height) as attached pic. I thought that the bug was the one to be fixed in ver.18.0, so I enabled navi bar once (just in case), then updated FireToolbox to the latest ver 23.0, then disabled navibar again but still no change... What should I do to fix this issue? I am using Fire HD 10 2019. Thank you very much for your support in advance!

Are notifications supposed to work for apps installed from the Google Play store? I'm having no luck with notifications on anything even after disabling battery optimization and granting all permissions. I've tried updating the Google apk files and that just caused Google apps to break.

I'd personally start with the packages listed in @Falcon342 and @maven33's Extended Debloat List. They've compiled a list of packages that are known safe to disable/hide. However, It's hard to recommend disabling/hiding other packages as we're still not entirely sure what the other system apps do, and what will break if we disable them.

I believe the command you'll need is

adb shell pm disable-user --user 0 <package_to_disable>

since all the apps of interest are system apps and cannot be uninstalled.

I think (someone please correct me if I'm wrong) the tablets are missing components required for Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) to work correctly. Because of this, apps that send notifications using FCM won't be able to. I'd like to state that this isn't 100% accurate, it's just a guess...

Is there a bridge (hack) to get notifications from Apps installed through Google Play Store.?
I have few apps I like to receive the notifications.
These apps do not show up under Amazon Recent Notification page.

I know this is a pipe dream.
