There is nothing stupid about it. As I've stated before, Amazon has every right to make removing their advertising difficult or even impossible. And we have every right to try to do it anyway. These tablets are the best buy on the market simple because Amazon sells them cheap just because they see them a "marketing devices". When we remove the advertising, we defeat that purpose. Naturally they are going to do their best to prevent that. Sooner or late they are going to succeed. They have already succeeded in prevent us from rooting. There is no point in griping about it.
What are you on about, did you just assume my removal needs? I have no adverts. It's an Amazon Kids device - which BTW has no adverts, just like the fire models where you pay to have no adverts, and they prevent sideloaded apps from working properly on a kids profile due to the global owner admin app that cannot be removed. This means their new Christmas presents can't work.
So I am attempting to lock down the adult profile but Amazon in their stupid wisdom don't allow you to create more than two adult profiles (and won't let you create another one until 180 days have passed) in addition to that you cannot remove the appstore from the default launcher even with all other restrictions turned on. I am trying to make a kid friendly simple launcher with no other icons showing. I've just used a folder for now hopefully that'll do but I cannot believe how restrictive it is, your average person is not going to use ADB so they should just let them be.
I wouldn't have purchased them if I knew they were this restricted, I'd have just purchased another device easier to work with and bought a case.
