I know that on Fire OS 7.3.2.2, that you can't use the custom launcher feature because Home Pages is a protected app now, So I have a suggestion, maybe you guys could make a way to downgrade the devices? I don't know If you guys are already working on something, or something better, but I just want to give my thoughts.

If the option to return it for another one (of a less popular color that is less likely to have the newest firmware on it) is still open, then do it. Wrong color is a good excuse, too.

I updated to toolbox 26.1 and now I get ads showing up on the lockscreen? I didn't think i changed anything so appreciate any help to remove them. Running 7.3.1.9

For those coming here to figure out what to do with you Fire Tablet.
Thoroughly read the first post! - completely.
After using this on an 8" (2x) and a 10" tablet in the past month, here are my suggestions: (YMMV)
- After installing Toolbox on your PC - restart the PC.
- After following the instructions for the tablet from Post #1, verbatim, connect the tablet and reboot the Tablet. DO NOT connect to WiFi yet.
Perform steps as listed in Post #1.

I found that by rebooting the PC and tablet, I did not receive any errors.

None of the above is valid if your tablet has been updated to OS v7.3.2.2

And also, give thanks to @Datastream33 for putting in the time and effort for such and awesome tool package.

Got a question: How do I set up my 11th Fire 10 without connecting to wifi? It says I must connect to a network to continue.

You should be able to find the directions in the first post of this thread:

FIRE HD 7, 8, 10 (2018 - 2021) Guide:

If you click "Show Guide" you should see these directions:

Booting the tablet for the first time:

• Wait for your tablet to fully boot up for the first time (may take a few seconds to minutes).
• When it boots, it will ask you for the language you'd like the OS to use. Select your prefered language.
• Tapping the blue arrow at the bottom of the screen, you'll be asked to connect to a WIFI network.
• Select ANY network from the list (even if you don't know the password).
• Once it asks for the password, tap the "Cancel" button and it will take you to the previous screen with the Wifi networks.
• At the bottom of the screen, you should now see a "Skip Setup" button, go ahead and tap that.
• It will now ask if you're sure you want to skip fire setup. Just tap "Skip" once more.
• You should immeditely be thrown into Fire Launcher. You're now ready to enable USB/ADB Debugging.

In short, select any Wireless network, then choose "Cancel" to go back to the previous screen. You should now see in the corner "Skip Setup" beneath all the wireless networks. I just tried this and it worked for me. I hope it helps!

Needing some help here. Got a Fire HD 10 for my youngest at christmas. I'm looking to install Google services so I can manage it along with my other kids device with Family Link and so she can get YT Kids. However when I log into Play Store after checking for updates I get the error saying "Something went wrong". Any suggestions?

I've bought 2 fire tablets, 1 for me and another for my wife. Both are setup and working, both are configured to the same Amazon account.

My question relates to privacy.. if I happen to view a web site via chrome, or duck duck or view a Reddit thread via the sync app, would she be able to know what I've been looking at ?

Just interested to know if there is any visibility between two devices registered to the same account ! Thanks

Sorry not sure if any information is shared, but I'm in a similar situation.
I've signed both tablets into the same account and now we have the same user icon and details.
Is there an easy way to log out of this account and then into another one, or would I be better factory resetting and starting again ?

This is usually caused by installing things! Remember, these tablets have very limited RAM, and not the fastest SOC's. Then you add to that the amazon supplied software that can only be suppressed and not removed. Now you throw in Google Services that these were not designed to run, and finally you throw some user software on top. As long as you keep the load of user software low, it works acceptably, but add too much and it will slow down.

Ok I will try that. I basically just had plex, netflix, and games installed. I wish my nvidia tablet didnt die

Apologies if this has been asked, I’ve read through the last 20 pages.

Is it possible to completely remove the prime video app?

I want to sign in with a different account, so downloaded the apk of the google play version and tried to sideload it. But getting an error… “Provider name is already used”.

I’m only assuming the play store version will allow me to sign in with a different account.

Any help/ suggestions appreciated.

Using the 11th gen firehd10plus. I'm trying to complete the initial tablet setup using the tool, however when I try to install the google portion of the initial setup the google play services portion errors out. So far after searching around I've done the following to attempt to remedy the error(all with no success) - i've uninstalled program on pc and rebooted the tablet to factory default, rebooted pc/tablet, deleted the apk files on the pc and tried reinstalling them, removed vanced from my google. I couldn't find any other solutions on the web for this so I'm asking here now. What should I do to remedy this?
