Great tool. One issue I'm having with Nova Launcher (read the warning about FireOS 7.3.2.xx, so didn't update to that)

Fire 7 2019 running 7.3.1.5.

When trying to add Nova Launcher, I see the following dialog:

I ran into that error on one tablet... I think it was one that I skipped registration with Amazon prior to using the FTB tools. I did a factory reset and didn't get the error when I went through the registration during setup.

Is there a way to reverse the "Disable Lockscreen" tool? I set up a dozen tablets for my nonprofit, but the rack they were stored in was waking the screen and opening apps because the screens were touching part of the dividers.

I'd like to revert just the "Disable Lockscreen" ADB script, as the lockscreen swipe would be enough to avoid the rack dividers from waking the screen. (PINs are a no-no, as these will be used by adults with Developmental Disabilities.)

Can I run a script in the ADB console to reverse whatever settings are changed when I ran "Disable Lockscreen"? I'd like to avoid configuring these from scratch. Thanks, and even if I have to start from scratch, this is a wonderful tool that I've used for myself, friends, and now to stretch the IT budget at a nonprofit. I commend you for your continuing work!

Just make sure you check the System Updates section of your Settings to see if there's an update waiting to install before you shut down/reboot. (Don't click "Check for updates", just look at the bottom where it says the current status.) If there is one waiting to be installed, report back here and we'll tell you how to get rid of it. Oh, and make sure you put it back to metered so an update doesn't slip through.

As you wrote the update version 7.3.2.6 is waiting for a download but is not progressing.
Kindly advise how can I remove it from the System Updates.
Yes, I switched to metered wifi immediately after language dodnload finished.

To remove the update file before it installs, go into Settings > Apps & Notifications. Under Recently Opened Apps, it should say "See all xx apps". Tap that. At the top, toggle Show System to on. Scroll down to DeviceSoftwareOTA and tap it. Tap Storage. Tap Clear Cache. Tap Clear Storage and OK when it gives the warning. Tap back, then tap back again. Scroll down to Forced OTA and tap it. Tap Storage. Tap Clear Cache, and tap Clear Storage and OK on the warning screen. Tap back 2 more times. Scroll down to System Updates (the first one) and tap it. tap Clear cache. Tap Clear Storage and OK. Tap back twice. Now tap the second system Updates. Tap Storage. Clear the Cach, and Clear the Storage. When you've cleard the cache and storage of all 4 apps, that should remove the update.

Once again the apps are:

1. DeviceSoftwareOTA
2. Forced OTA
3. System Updates (1)
4. System Updates (2)

Clear the cache and storage of all those apps and you should be good.

Edit:. I'm not sure if all those apps are necessary, but they're all safe to clear.

Could we have Ctrl+H and Shift+H to do the same thing, i.e. land me to the Nova homescreen?

If 2 shortcuts aren't possible, then I'd prefer Shift+H if possible!

I'm having issues to register my 2021 8" fire tablet (7.3.1.8) after using it with the wonderful fire toolbox update since over a year.
I updated the Amazon Appstore app to the version 9.2610.1.3.1534.0 but as before I am just getting the loading loop when I press register. Amazon Kids app crashes when I try to register there. Alexa I logged in without accepting the terms and conditions.
Not sure if maybe a past Playstore update damaged the Amazon App store.
Is there any alternative way to register the Amazon app to end up with the functioning Netflix app please?

Hi, and welcome to XDA!

To get signed into Amazon and use their apps, you need to have NOT disabled Shop Amazon. If you ran the "standard debloat", I believe that app is removed. If so, go into Toolbox and Manage Amazon Apps > Manual tab > Simple (Recommended) > Restore Apps tab to re-enable Shop Amazon. Then use the updated Shop Amazon app linked in my signature to update it so that it won't redirect you to your browser and say the app needs updating. Sign in to Shop Amazon and then you should be good to go.

Thanks for this wonderful toolbox.
I used it to clean my fire hd 8' (2015) of all bloatware. But after this the wallpaper app got disturbed and I get a fire wallpaper along to change it on the app.
I tried to reconnect the fire tablet to the PC but it just fails to recognise. I've tried reinstalling ADB drivers, enabling ADB, try on a different PC, different cable and even factory reset. But the tablet fails to get recognised. It charges through the USB port fine.

Any ideas why this is happening and how can I fix this please?

Hey, any question relating the Fire Tablets are a-OK here.

If you're comfortable with using the terminal in Linux, and don't mind opening the device up, try following this guide. You must follow it exactly, and be very careful if you do want to go down that route. Best of luck!

I'm planning on installing this on my 2019 tablet sometime this weekend. I see the tutorial on the first page starts with directions for people who haven't purchased a tablet yet. Since mine isn't new and it's best to to this with an unlinked device I'm planning on unlinking my tablet from my account before I do anything besides resetting it.

I probably should have just double checked to see if there was a different tutorial for tablets that aren't brand new.

Not necessary. The instructions to not link it are so that it doesn't update before you disable updates. Since it's not new, it's either updated already, or you managed to disable updates in another way and you are installing Toolbox to do more. Either way, it doesn't matter at this point.



Be sure to leave Shop Amazon enabled so that if you need to sign back in you can use that.

Hey man, it's all good. They contracted a company to rip it out and put new stuff in. Right now, they put down fans to dry the new drywall. It's pretty loud.

Anyway, I finally had some time. Managed to whipped up a modified version of the Invoker flow, and attached it below. It has support for both requested shortcuts (ctrl+h, and Shift+h).
