As someone who created custom themes in the OG Droid days and tried a lot of custom ROM's, the good old days are gone. Even on the "easy" to root phones, there are a lot more hoops to jump through. Especially since the A/B slot partitions were introduced. It used to be you just installed a custom recovery, flashed whatever worked and updated directly from the ROM. The OnePlus 8 Pro was the last great software experience out of the box and didn't need a custom ROM. OxygenOS 13 however is a dumpster fire and I commend everyone who is working to make LineageOS or any AOSP ROM a reality. Thank you for your hard work.


Simple things such as easily swiping the notifications away, having a familiar and labeled settings menu, changing the DPI in Developer Options and having it survive a reboot, and having third party launchers work with gesture navigation are not too much to ask. The hardware is great and love the smaller form factor compared to the S23 Ultra. If only we could get great software too.

You are absolutely correct. OP8Pro was awesome until I upgraded to 13. I was hoping by upgrading to the OP11 that at the very least swiping the notifications away would be fixed but it's clearly an os13 issue. Also like you said gestures not working with third party launchers. I'm already waiting for the upgrade to 14 because they haven't fixed one single issue in 13 yet on either the 8Pro or 11.

Yet another reason to need this port, using a Samsung Galaxy Note 10+ (Snapdragon), and Samsung ships a custom version of the google app that prevents me from using Google Bard via Google Assistant so I can't use it through Android Auto. Samsung's ecosystem is nothing but roadblocks at this point for the sake of monetization(They replaced the explore tab in the google app with "Samsung Free")...So obviously a OP11 is going to be a massive upgrade for me but I can't convince myself to buy it until this port is complete

I would love to see nameless coming to the OP11 I am fed up with the nonsense like removing a working DND functionality and replacing it with a crap of three different apps where you do not even have the possibility to replicate DND in a proper way... so it goes on with other functions...

yeah my friend has a note10+ exynos and the only thing preventing me from installing lineageos for him is lack of volte

It looks like some of it has been made private but the kernel and sm8550_common repo are still there.

As far as I know, some people are working on it in their spare time. Their work is available on GitHub so feel free to contribute if you know what you're doing I'd love to see something booting on the OnePlus 11 but for now there is nothing more than work in progress. https://github.com/OnePlus-11-Development

Afaik he is working on AOSP bringup for the Galaxy S23+ (dm2q) which is also running a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 (sm8550). It seems like sparse teams are working on different devices.

There is also Moto X40 work in progress, but
they're cherry-picking some commits from the OnePlus 11 dev organisation. So, I think they aren't more advanced that the OnePlus 11 dudes. https://github.com/moto-sm8550

So well, I finally ordered the phone. I'm importing the Marble Odyssey limited edition into France, and I'm planning to work on LineageOS with Chandu and others. Are there other devs here willing to help ?
